DOCUMENT COURIER

Document courier collection and delivery A clear handover plan

Send urgent personal or business documents with KB Cars, whether you travel with them or not. Our 24-hour office can assess your delivery and quote for the addresses, timing and package. Contact us to agree the handover.

DOCUMENT DELIVERY

From authorised collection to agreed delivery

Arrange a personal or business document delivery with a named driver, vehicle registration and tracking. The office will agree who can release the sealed package and where and to whom it should be delivered.

We assess ordinary document deliveries before accepting them. This is not a specialist custody service, so discuss any particular custody or delivery requirements with the office.

PLAN THE HANDOVER

Three decisions for your delivery

Agree the contents, authority and destination before collection so the driver knows how the package should be handed over.

Contents and packaging

Tell us the document type, quantity, size and weight, how the package is sealed and about any unusual handling. Unusual or high-risk contents need office assessment; dangerous goods, illicit drugs and specialist handling are not accepted as ordinary parcels.

Authority to release and change

Identify the sender or booker, the person authorised to release the package and the contact who can approve changes, waiting or extra cost. An address or PIN alone does not authorise access to someone else’s property.

Recipient and handover

Agree the named recipient, reception or authorised safe place before collection. If release or delivery cannot be completed, the office will contact the authorised person to agree the next step.

REQUEST A QUOTE

What to tell the office

Share the collection and delivery addresses, requested date and time, and contact details for the authorised sender and recipient. Include the package details above, any reception or secure-point instructions and the reference the collector should quote. For a workplace or building, confirm the named contact, that the item is ready and that it may be released. KB Cars is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO); our Privacy Notice explains how we handle booking information.

The office will confirm the scope and price for your arrangement before acceptance. Loading and unloading waiting is chargeable; other waiting or an agreed change may affect the price.

GOOD TO KNOW

Document courier delivery questions

Answers about sending documents, handover and proof of delivery.

Can I send documents without travelling with them?

Yes. Documents can travel unaccompanied, or you can travel with them. Tell the office which you need and identify the authorised collection contact and recipient.

An enquiry, quote or payment alone does not confirm a booking. It is confirmed when KB sends confirmation by SMS and/or email.

Can you deliver to a reception or an authorised safe place?

Yes, if the recipient, reception or safe place is agreed before collection. An authorised reception or agreed secure point can also be used for collection; provide the release contact and reference.

Keep sensitive access details restricted. An address or PIN alone does not give permission to enter someone else’s property.

What happens if nobody can receive the document?

The item is kept secure, not abandoned. The office contacts the authorised customer to agree paid waiting, another address or a return, and records any accepted change and revised price.

Send material changes to the office rather than giving new instructions only to the driver.

Can I send a confidential, high-value or special-handling item?

Ordinary documents in suitable sealed packaging can be assessed, but specialist handling is not automatic. Tell the office the contents, packaging and any custody requirements before booking.

Medicines, cash, jewellery, high-value goods and temperature-sensitive items are not automatically authorised as ordinary parcels. The office will confirm whether the arrangement is suitable before acceptance.

Can I arrange proof of delivery?

Yes. Ask the office to arrange a photo, PIN or another proportionate form of proof for the parcel. Agree the recipient and the proof you need in advance: tracking or proof of location does not by itself prove that the right person received it. A photo should not expose private documents, faces, access codes or unrelated property.
