COURIER DELIVERY

Small-parcel courier delivery Collection to delivery

Send an urgent parcel with collection and handover arranged by our 24-hour office. Request a quote based on your addresses, timing and item; you can travel with it or send it unaccompanied.

BEFORE COLLECTION

Is your parcel suitable for delivery?

We arrange urgent personal and business deliveries of ordinary parcels, documents, keys and forgotten items. Suitable packaging is needed, and the office assesses the contents, dimensions, weight and any unusual handling before accepting the journey.

Some loading jobs and multiple non-heavy items can be arranged. Tell us if the parcel is bulky or needs loading help: a driver cannot be assumed to lift a heavy or exceptionally large item, and a two-person crew is not automatic.

DECISIONS TO MAKE

Plan a clear handover

Agree who can release and receive the parcel, and what happens if handover is not possible.

Prepare the parcel

Pack the item suitably and tell the office about its contents and any unusual handling. The office checks whether the proposed delivery is suitable before acceptance.

Sender authorisation

Have the parcel ready at the agreed collection point. Name the person authorised to release it and provide the relevant contact or reference. An authorised reception, secure collection point or agreed key access may be an option. If release is not possible, the office contacts the authorised person before agreeing waiting, rearrangement or cancellation.

Recipient and fallback

Agree delivery to the named recipient, reception or an authorised safe place. If handover fails, the office contacts the authorised customer to agree waiting, another address or return and any revised cost.

GET THE QUOTE RIGHT

Get a quote for your parcel delivery

Share the full collection and destination addresses, preferred date and time, contents, number of pieces, approximate dimensions and weight, and packaging. Tell us about stairs, loading help, anyone travelling with the parcel, access instructions and any recipient reference. Keep sensitive access details with the office. KB Cars is registered with the ICO; our Privacy Notice explains how we handle booking information.

Name the booker and the contact authorised to approve release, destination changes, waiting or extra cost; the payer may be someone else. The office assesses the arrangement and provides its price and scope, including applicable extras. Loading and unloading waiting is chargeable.

An enquiry, quote or payment alone is not a confirmed booking: KB confirms by SMS and/or email. If plans change, the authorised contact should ask the office and wait for acceptance of the change and any revised charge. For a time-critical change, call if your message has not been acknowledged; acknowledgement alone is not acceptance.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

Goods-in-transit cover

Goods-in-transit insurance is not included. Discuss your parcel and the delivery arrangements with the office before booking acceptance.

GOOD TO KNOW

Questions before you send a parcel

Practical answers on eligibility, handover, proof and cover.

Which parcels can the office assess?

We assess ordinary parcels, documents, keys and forgotten items for urgent personal or business delivery. Tell us the contents before acceptance, including anything that needs unusual handling.

We do not carry dangerous or illicit goods. Animals, cash, jewellery, high-value goods, medicines, samples and temperature-sensitive items are not automatically authorised or treated as ordinary parcels. Specialist handling is not automatic.

Can someone else hand over or receive it?

Yes, if the authority is agreed in advance. The booker, payer, sender and recipient may be different people; name the person allowed to release the parcel and the person who may receive it. An address or PIN alone does not authorise access to someone else's property.

What tracking or proof can I request?

Driver and vehicle details, booking confirmation and tracking can form part of the agreed arrangement. You can also discuss a photo, PIN or another proportionate proof of handover.

A signature, photo or formal custody trail is not automatic. A location record alone does not prove the right person received the parcel, and any photo should avoid private documents, faces, access codes and unrelated property.

What happens if the recipient is unavailable?

The driver keeps the parcel secure while the office contacts the authorised customer. You can agree paid waiting, another address or a return, with the accepted change and price recorded. The parcel is not abandoned, and a free return is not automatic.

Is my parcel covered by goods-in-transit insurance?

No. Goods-in-transit insurance is not included. Tell the office what you are sending and discuss the arrangements before the booking is accepted.
