Your hospital destination
Kingston Hospital is on Galsworthy Road, KT2 7QB, and is a different destination from Kingston University and its campuses. Use your visit instructions to identify the hospital building and entrance you need.
The forecourt and site approaches are subject to hospital controls, and parking is limited. Agree a lawful, practical meeting point with the office rather than assuming a waiting bay or that a car can remain outside your department. If a proposed point is difficult for you to reach, discuss a workable alternative with us.
Make your journey work
We arrange ordinary private-hire travel for patients, visitors and companions; clinical care remains separate.
Tell us your hospital building and entrance and the time you need to arrive. Share travel details rather than a diagnosis or appointment letter.
Include companions in the passenger count and tell us about bags, mobility equipment and any help you need. The office can confirm a suitable arrangement before booking.
Agree a return time or contact arrangement with the office. A driver does not automatically wait during your visit; availability and any waiting charges depend on the arrangement.
The journey home
You have three choices: contact us once you are ready, subject to an available car; book a paid wait-and-return with the driver waiting outside; or book a separate return around an approximate time. The office can help you compare them.
Booked wait-and-return is paid waiting from the start. For a separate return, applicable pickup waiting or changes can affect the cost if your appointment overruns; the outward driver and vehicle are not automatically retained. Ask the office about the current rate, any applicable allowance and when charging starts.
Agree the collection entrance. If you are delayed or move buildings, contact the office to discuss the change rather than assuming the original car is still waiting.
Other ways to travel
Norbiton station is a rail approach to Kingston Hospital, followed by a walk. The K2 and K4 buses serve the hospital forecourt. Consider the route to your building, including walking distance, steps and any equipment you are taking.
Hospital-provided wheelchairs, volunteers and other site facilities are separate from your transport booking. Check what you need with the appropriate organisation; one arrangement does not automatically cover the other.
Travel with the right support
Family members and carers can travel with you; include them in the passenger count. Enquiries are welcome for journeys anywhere, including outside London. Booking ahead gives the office more time to arrange your journey, though short-notice enquiries are welcome and depend on an available car.
We can carry folding wheelchairs, but currently have no wheelchair-accessible vehicles. Discuss the folded dimensions, boarding needs, other luggage and any assistance with the office so we can confirm whether the vehicle is suitable.
Guidance to the car and loading ordinary bags or a folding wheelchair are free when arranged with the office beforehand, so a driver able to help can be assigned. Tell us about any help you need; this does not affect assistance a driver is legally required to provide. An additional escort to or inside a building, shopping centre or flat depends on the task and may carry a charge; agree its scope and any cost with the office.

Answers to common questions about planning and booking your journey.
The postcode identifies the site, but the building and entrance make your arrival or collection clearer. Use the instructions you already have; the office does not need the reason for your appointment or a copy of your clinical correspondence.
You can contact us when ready, book paid wait-and-return, or arrange a separate return for an approximate time. A car requested when ready is subject to availability; waiting or changes may affect the cost of a pre-booked return. The office can advise on the options.
No. This is ordinary private-hire travel, not emergency, clinical or hospital-organised patient transport. Contact the hospital about its own transport process, and do not rely on a private-hire booking for medical support.
Give the office your pickup address, hospital building and entrance, date, required arrival time, passenger count and practical vehicle needs. You do not need to send medical records, a diagnosis or treatment details. KB Cars is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO); our Privacy Notice explains how we handle booking information.
Yes. You can bring and fit your own suitable child seat, or ask the office to arrange one. A KB-supplied seat has a £3 offer for airport journeys and non-airport pre-bookings over £50. Local and short-notice supply is subject to availability; for other bookings, check the price with the office. Discuss the child's seat needs, suitability, number of seats and total charge before booking.
Tell the office about furniture or other large objects before booking. A large passenger vehicle is not automatically a moving service; undeclared bulky loads may incur extra charges, and the driver is not expected to load them.
Ask the office for a quote using your full pickup and destination addresses, date and time, passenger numbers and vehicle or luggage needs. The price can vary with travel time, including peak periods; a postcode alone does not establish the fare.
For a return, discuss each leg and whether the driver will wait. Ask what the quote includes and what waiting, parking or other agreed extras would cost. An enquiry or quote is not a confirmed booking: KB confirms bookings by SMS and/or email.
