Find the right destination

Moorfields Private Outpatient Centre, Bath Street

The Private Outpatient Centre is at 9–11 Bath Street, London EC1V 9LF, beside the main Moorfields hospital. A consultation at Bath Street does not mean a later visit or procedure will be at the same building.

Check the location for each appointment. If your instructions name City Road or another Moorfields clinic, do not substitute Bath Street. Tell the office the building and entrance and agree a lawful arrival or collection point. Parking is limited and there is no reserved KB bay.

Plan your visit

A journey arranged around your appointment

We can discuss the outward trip, companions, practical assistance and a suitable return. This is private hire, separate from clinical care.

Choose the right arrival point

Give us the pickup address, appointment building and entrance, date and required arrival time. Travel details are enough; you do not need to send your diagnosis or appointment letter.

Match the car to your needs

Tell us how many people are travelling, including any companion or carer, and the number and sizes of your bags or mobility equipment. The office can consider passengers and luggage together and discuss a suitable vehicle and the help you need.

Plan the return

Agree a return time or a way to contact the office when you are ready. A driver will not automatically wait; we can explain the options and charges.

The journey home

When your finish time is uncertain

You have three choices: contact the office when you are ready and request a car subject to availability; book a paid wait-and-return with the driver waiting outside; or book a separate return around an approximate time. The office can help you compare them.

Wait-and-return includes paid waiting from the start. For a separate return, applicable pickup waiting or changes may affect the cost if your appointment overruns; contact the office if you are delayed. Ask about the current rate, any applicable allowance and when charging starts before booking.

Check that your return is from Bath Street too. If you are directed to another building, ask the office to agree the changed collection address rather than assuming the driver will follow between sites.

Travel with the right support

Companions, equipment and assistance

Family members or carers are welcome to travel with you. Enquiries are welcome for journeys anywhere, including outside London. Book ahead where possible to give the office more time to arrange your journey; short-notice enquiries are also welcome, subject to availability.

We can carry folding wheelchairs in a suitable vehicle, but we do not currently have wheelchair-accessible vehicles. Tell the office the folded dimensions, other luggage, boarding needs and any assistance needed so we can confirm the arrangement.

Guidance to the car and loading ordinary bags or a folding wheelchair are free when arranged with the office beforehand, so a driver able to help can be assigned. Required disability assistance is not dependent on advance notice. An optional extra escort to or inside a building, shopping centre or flat depends on the task and may carry a charge; agree its scope and any fee with the office before booking.

Compare the whole journey

Old Street is a nearby public-transport approach, followed by a street-level walk. National Rail lists no step-free access to its platforms. Check the operator’s current journey and access arrangements if stairs or walking are a concern; lifts inside the outpatient centre do not make the whole journey step-free.

Consider the walk and any assistance you may need as well as the transport itself. Moorfields’ own services and facilities are separate from the travel assistance you can agree with the KB Cars office.

GOOD TO KNOW

Moorfields travel questions

Answers to help you choose and arrange your journey.

Is this the main Moorfields Eye Hospital entrance?

No. This page covers Moorfields Private Outpatient Centre at 9–11 Bath Street. The main City Road hospital and other Moorfields locations are separate destinations, so check the location for each appointment.

What if I do not know when I will be finished?

You can contact us when ready, arrange paid wait-and-return, or book a separate return for an approximate time. A car requested when ready is subject to availability; waiting or changes may affect the cost of a pre-booked return. Our office can help you decide.

Is this emergency or NHS patient transport?

No. KB Cars offers ordinary private-hire travel, not emergency, clinical or hospital-organised patient transport. Contact the hospital about its own transport process; do not rely on private hire for medical support.

What information do I need to share?

Share the pickup address, hospital building and entrance, date, required arrival time, passenger count and practical vehicle needs. You do not need to send medical records, a diagnosis or treatment details for a travel enquiry. KB Cars is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO); our Privacy Notice explains how we handle booking information.

Can I bring a child seat or request one?

Yes. You can bring and fit your own suitable child seat, or ask the office to arrange one. A KB-supplied seat has a £3 offer for airport journeys and non-airport pre-bookings over £50; local and short-notice requests are subject to availability.

For other bookings, check the price with the office. Give the child’s age, relevant height, weight and seat needs, and confirm suitability, the number of seats and the total charge before booking.

What if I need to carry bulky items?

Tell the office about furniture or other large objects before booking so the load can be assessed. A large passenger vehicle is not automatically a moving service. Undeclared bulky loads may incur extra charges, and the driver is not expected to help load them.

How do I get a fare for my journey?

Ask the office for a quote using your full pickup and destination addresses, travel date and time, passenger numbers and vehicle or luggage requirements. The price can vary with travel time, including peak periods; a postcode alone does not establish the fare.

For a return, confirm each leg and whether the driver will wait. Ask what the quote includes and what waiting, parking or other agreed extras would cost. An enquiry or quote is not a confirmed booking; KB confirms a booking by SMS and/or email.
