Saloon private hire Choose the right vehicle

A saloon is a practical choice for an ordinary private-hire journey. Contact our 24-hour office for a quote based on your journey and to check that the vehicle suits your passengers and luggage.

Choosing a saloon

Passengers and luggage matter together

A saloon is a vehicle category, not a promise of a particular make or model. The office will check whether it suits the people and items travelling together; there is no fixed bag combination to rely on.

Tell us the number of passengers, including any accompanying carer, and the number and sizes of suitcases and cabin bags. Include any pushchair, folding wheelchair or unusual item. If a saloon is not suitable, we can discuss an alternative and agree any material change with you.

Plan your vehicle

What to discuss with the office

We can help match the vehicle and practical arrangements to your journey.

Vehicle preference

Ask about a saloon for an ordinary private-hire journey and mention any preferences. Images or model examples are illustrative, not a promise of the vehicle allocated.

Access and assistance

Discuss walking, entry or seating needs and any help required. Guidance to the car and loading ordinary bags or a folding wheelchair can be arranged; a more involved escort can be discussed separately.

Quote and availability

The office checks availability and quotes for the journey and agreed extras. An enquiry, quote or payment alone does not confirm a car: KB sends confirmation by SMS and/or email when the booking is accepted.

Planning your journey

Make the arrangements work for you

Give the office your collection and destination addresses, date and time, passenger and luggage details, and any relevant flight, train or venue information. Mention stops, a return plan, vehicle preference and assistance requests so the quote reflects the agreed journey. KB Cars is registered with the ICO; our Privacy Notice explains how we handle your booking information.

If you do not know when you will finish, you can contact us when ready for a car subject to availability, reserve a driver to wait under agreed chargeable waiting terms, or book a separate approximate return and contact the office if delayed. A separate return does not retain the outward driver or guarantee the same vehicle; waiting or changes can affect its cost. The office can compare the options and agree the scope and total with you.

GOOD TO KNOW

Saloon booking questions

Answers about vehicle suitability, assistance and changing your plans.

Does a saloon guarantee a particular model or luggage space?

No. A saloon is a vehicle category, not a guaranteed make, model or numerical bag combination. Passenger numbers and luggage must be considered together. Give the office the sizes and counts of your bags and any unusual items so it can confirm suitability or discuss another category.

Can I request access or assistance?

Yes. Tell the office about walking tolerance, entry or seating needs, an accompanying carer or a folding wheelchair. Guidance to the car and loading ordinary bags or a folding wheelchair can be arranged in advance without charge. An additional escort inside a building or more involved help is assessed separately, with the arrangement and any cost agreed. KB does not offer wheelchair-accessible vehicles; a suitable folding chair may travel as luggage.

What happens if my journey details change?

The booker or an authorised contact should request the change from the office. Changes to the time, addresses, stops, passengers, vehicle or terminal may affect the quote. The change is complete only when the office accepts it and issues confirmation; a pending request or acknowledgment of receipt is not acceptance. For a time-critical change, seek acknowledgment and call the office if your message has not been confirmed.

Can I use a child seat or travel with a pet?

Yes. Bring your own suitable child seat or ask KB to arrange one in advance, subject to availability and suitability. Give the office the child's age, relevant height, weight and seat requirements; confirm any charge with the office.

Tell the office about an ordinary pet so it can arrange a suitable vehicle and driver. An extra charge may apply; animals in carriers usually have no extra charge. Assistance dogs are handled under separate applicable duties.
