KB CARS · WAITING TIME

Waiting time for your booking and what it costs.

Waiting can be chargeable, and parking is a separate cost. Conditions depend on your collection and arrangement. Contact our 24-hour office to discuss the applicable allowance and charges.

WAITING AND PARKING

What counts as waiting?

Waiting is time the driver is held for a passenger, collection or agreed return. It is chargeable under the applicable conditions. Parking is a separate stopping or access cost; your quote or booking confirmation should explain the two separately.

Ordinary pickups, airport arrivals, loading and hourly hire can have different clocks and allowances. During paid hourly hire, waiting and traffic are part of the reserved period, not an additional ordinary waiting charge for the same minutes. Ask the office which conditions apply to your plan.

PLAN YOUR RETURN

Choose whether the driver stays or returns

For an appointment, meeting or shopping trip, the office can compare a waiting arrangement with a separate return.

Choose your arrangement

Reserve the driver to wait if you need them to remain, or arrange a separate return if you expect to be ready later. The office can also discuss hourly hire for a flexible period with stops.

Share the practical details

Give the collection and return addresses, date, start and likely finish, plus any stops and venue or airport details. Mention parking, access or meeting-point requirements.

Agree the conditions

Ask the office to explain the applicable waiting, parking and access conditions before you accept the arrangement. For a change, send the new details; acknowledgment of your request is not acceptance. Call if it is time-critical.

If you do not know when you will finish Contact us when ready for a car, reserve the driver to wait, or agree a separate approximate return and contact the office if delayed. A car booked when ready is subject to availability, not guaranteed immediately. Waiting or changes can affect the cost of an approximate return; no option is always cheaper.

GOOD TO KNOW

Waiting time questions

How the clock, charges and changes work for your arrangement.

Is parking included in waiting time?

Not automatically. Parking, access, tolls and other extras are considered separately from waiting. Airport meet-and-greet does not itself include parking or unlimited waiting; the office will explain the conditions for your booking.

Does every pickup use the same waiting clock?

No. Ordinary pickup, airport arrival, loading and reserved hourly time can have different allowances and conditions. Ask the office when your clock starts and what applies to your booking.

For hourly hire, the clock normally starts at the agreed time if the driver is ready and the contact and location are correct. If KB is late, it starts at actual readiness, with a revised end or appropriate adjustment agreed for lost availability. Early arrival does not start the charge early.

Can I ask the driver to wait while I finish?

Yes. Ask the office to reserve the driver while you finish an appointment, meeting or shopping. Waiting is chargeable under the agreed conditions. The office can compare that arrangement with a separate return or hourly hire for your plan.

What if my finish time changes?

The booker or designated authorised contact should tell the office the new time and any changed addresses or stops. A driver can relay the request, but the office must confirm acceptance of a material change, including availability and any revised charge. Acknowledgment alone does not mean the change is accepted; call if it is time-critical.

A separate return does not automatically retain the outward driver or the same car.

Will I be notified before waiting charges start?

Not necessarily. A waiting message may be sent, but it is not guaranteed to arrive before charges begin. Ask the office when the clock starts and about the allowance and notification conditions for your booking.
