SCHOOL TRANSPORT

School runs from CR4 A plan for your child.

Arrange recurring school journeys with a tailored quote for your route and routine. Our 24-hour office will help you agree the handover and support your child needs.

YOUR SCHOOL JOURNEY

A routine built around your family

From CR4, arrange a morning or afternoon school run, one direction or both, on the days that suit your family. Term-time routines, occasional cover and one-off trips can all be discussed. The destination school and its entrance matter: CR4 is the starting area, not a named school route.

Our office will discuss the route, schedule and support to give you a tailored quote. An enquiry or quote alone is not a booking; once the arrangement is accepted, KB confirms it by SMS and/or email.

BEFORE THE FIRST RUN

Build a clear plan for your child

Agree the individual journey and what happens if the routine changes.

Set the route and routine

Give the collection address, destination school and entrance, days, pickup time and expected finish. Tell us who is authorised to arrange the journey and changes, whether a parent or passenger assistant accompanies, and any communication, seating or assistance needs. KB Cars is registered with the ICO; our Privacy Notice explains how we handle booking information.

Agree collection and handover

Name authorised adults and the receiving organisation, with emergency and backup contacts. We verify the child and recipient under the plan. If an adult is late or a code fails, the plan provides for safe supervision and office contact; a PIN or tracking access alone does not authorise a different recipient.

Plan for disruptions

Agree how to handle a missing child, distress, delay or unavailable recipient, and how changed instructions are verified. The office can help resolve a disruption and discuss a suitable approved replacement if a driver problem arises.

SUPPORT FOR YOUR CHILD

Agree the right help for the journey

Tell us what helps your child travel comfortably, including communication, sensory preferences, mobility, seating, restraint and handover needs. Guidance to the car and loading ordinary bags or a folding wheelchair can be provided without charge; telling the office in advance helps us arrange suitable help. A parent may accompany, provide a passenger assistant (PA), or ask KB to source one. A PA needs a proper seat and clear responsibilities.

Drivers focus on driving; a PA can help with supervision, communication and handover as agreed. Medication, personal care, weight-bearing transfers, specialist equipment or physical intervention require separately assessed competence and practical arrangements before acceptance. KB does not currently have wheelchair-accessible vehicles, so discuss safe boarding and seating with the office.

GOOD TO KNOW

Questions about CR4 school runs

Practical answers for planning your child’s journey.

What can I arrange from CR4?

Parent-booked morning or afternoon runs can cover selected weekdays, term-time routines, occasional cover and one-off journeys, including clubs, exams or a changed finish time. A parent can accompany, continue onward or be dropped off first when agreed.

What address and school details should I give?

Give the full CR4 collection address, destination school and exact entrance, along with the days, pickup time and expected finish. Mitcham Eastfields or Mitcham Junction can help identify an area, but a station is not a school route or permission to stop on private land. Agree a safe, lawful collection point and any school or School Street access arrangements with the office.

How do changes, absence or a late finish work?

The authorised booker or designated contact can tell the office by phone or app about an absence, delay or changed finish. Prior-day notice is encouraged where possible, and agreed terms may affect charges. Acknowledgement means the request was received, not that the change has been accepted; wait for confirmation of the actual revised journey. For a time-critical change, call the office if your message has not been confirmed.

Can I request the same driver?

Yes. Ask for a same-driver arrangement when you enquire. If a genuine problem requires a replacement, the office will arrange a suitable approved driver and inform you; the driver is briefed on the agreed journey and handover plan.

Can I bring a child seat?

Yes. You can bring your own suitable seat or ask KB to arrange one in advance, subject to availability and suitability. Tell the office your child’s relevant height, weight and seat needs; the office will confirm the arrangement and any charge.

Can siblings or children from different families share a run?

Siblings can share a suitable arrangement. Sharing between unrelated families needs each guardian’s consent, an agreed route and change authority, and private family-specific updates. The plan also needs to cover every child at each stop, including if an assistant escorts one child inside.
