Travel accessibility needs Practical help for your journey

Our 24-hour office can arrange free guidance to the car and loading with advance notice, and discuss extra escort support. We do not have wheelchair-accessible vehicles. Contact us to agree the help you need.

PRACTICAL SUPPORT

What assistance can KB Cars provide?

We can arrange guidance to the car and loading of ordinary bags or a folding wheelchair without charge when you tell the office in advance. Advance notice helps us arrange suitable help; it does not remove any assistance duties that apply without notice.

A short driveway-to-door walk may be ordinary help. An optional escort inside a building or other bespoke support is assessed for the actual task, with its scope and any cost agreed with you. Required disability assistance is not subject to a prohibited surcharge.

KB Cars does not have wheelchair-accessible vehicles. A folding wheelchair can travel as luggage where suitable, but the passenger must be able to travel in a vehicle seat. Weight-bearing lifting, trained transfers, clinical care and personal care need a separately competent arrangement.

PLAN THE JOURNEY

Agree the help and meeting point

Tell our office what will make the journey workable, and we can discuss the arrangement before you book.

Describe your needs

Share your walking tolerance, entry, boarding or seating needs, bags and any accompanying carer. Give the pickup address, destination, date and time, and any important communication or handover needs.

Agree a practical plan

Discuss the meeting point, guidance, loading and any additional escort with the office. A carer needs a passenger seat, and a folded chair must fit alongside the passengers and other luggage.

Confirm your booking and changes

An enquiry or quote is not a confirmed booking; KB sends confirmation by SMS and/or email. For a change, the booker or authorised contact should ask the office and agree any revised charge. Acknowledgment of a request is not acceptance. If a time-critical message has not been acknowledged, call the office; once a change is accepted, KB sends confirmation of it.

Choosing an accessible meeting point Station access can affect where you meet your driver. North Sheen has no step-free platform access; Mortlake has step-free access to all platforms, though approaches may involve long or steep ramps or streets. Station access does not establish where a private-hire vehicle can stop. If a proposed meeting point is inaccessible, discuss a lawful, workable alternative with the office.

GOOD TO KNOW

Questions about travel assistance

The details that can help you decide what support to arrange.

Can someone help me from my door to the car?

Yes. Guidance to the car and loading ordinary bags or a folding wheelchair can be arranged without charge when notified in advance. A short driveway-to-door walk may be ordinary help; an optional escort inside a building is assessed for the actual task, with scope and any cost agreed. Advance notice does not remove applicable assistance duties.

Can I travel seated in my wheelchair?

No. KB Cars does not have wheelchair-accessible vehicles. A folding wheelchair may travel as luggage if it is suitable for the vehicle, passengers and other bags, but this does not provide wheelchair seating. Tell the office how you will board and what support you need.

What should I tell the office about my needs?

Describe what will help you travel, including limited walking tolerance, entry, boarding or seating needs, communication or handover requirements, bags and any accompanying carer. Give the exact addresses, date and time, and a meeting point if important. Share only medical or emergency details needed for the journey. KB Cars is registered with the ICO; our Privacy Notice explains how we handle booking information.

What if I need more than guidance to the car?

An escort inside a building may be agreed after the office assesses the task, with its scope and any cost agreed with you. Medication, clinical or personal care, weight-bearing lifting and trained transfers need a separately competent arrangement; ordinary driver assistance does not cover them.
