SCHOOL JOURNEYS FROM KT1

A school run that fits your routine

We arrange parent-booked journeys from KT1 for mornings, afternoons, selected weekdays, term-time routines, occasional cover and one-off trips. Discuss the destination school, days and times with our office, including any return, club or changed-finish arrangements.

KT1 is the starting area, not a fixed route to a particular school. We agree the collection, handover and support plan before the first run and quote for your actual arrangement.

YOUR CHILD'S TRAVEL PLAN

Plan the journey, handover and changes

Before the first run, our office agrees an individual plan with the authorised booker and, where relevant, the school or commissioner. KB Cars is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO); our Privacy Notice explains how we handle booking information.

Agree the individual plan

Share the child and authorised booker's details, KT1 collection address, destination school and entrance, schedule and passengers. Agree communication, seating or restraint and support needs, backup contacts, and what should happen for delays, distress, a missing child or a changed finish.

Verify collection and handover

We agree who may collect or receive the child and verify the handover. Drivers assigned to our school service complete KB's school-transport induction and office approval, with a briefing on the agreed journey and handover plan. A PIN helps identification but does not authorise a different recipient; tracking access does not confer handover authority. If no recipient is available, the child is not left alone: the office is contacted and the agreed escalation plan followed.

Keep changes with the office

The booker or designated authorised contact can request an absence, delay or changed finish by phone or app. Receipt is not acceptance: wait for office acknowledgement and confirmation of the accepted change. The office informs affected people and coordinates any suitable replacement.

SUPPORT AND CONTINUITY

Support that suits your child

Tell us what helps your child travel comfortably, including communication, sensory preferences, boarding, seating, restraint and handover. Guidance to the car and loading ordinary bags or a folding wheelchair are available without charge; telling the office in advance helps us arrange suitable help. KB currently has no wheelchair-accessible vehicles: a folded chair may travel as luggage where suitable, but not with the passenger seated in it.

You can provide a passenger assistant or ask KB to source one. Agree their seat and responsibilities for boarding, communication, supervision and handover. Medication, personal care, weight-bearing lifting and specialist transfers require separately agreed competence and arrangements.

You can request the same driver. If a replacement is needed, the office arranges a suitable approved driver and informs the parent.

GOOD TO KNOW

Questions about school runs from KT1

Answers to help you choose and manage your child's arrangement.

Can you cover selected days or changing school finishes?

Yes. Ask about morning or afternoon journeys, one direction, selected weekdays, term-time routines, occasional cover, one-off trips, clubs, exams and changed finish times. A parent may accompany, continue onward or be dropped off first when agreed.

Why do you need the school's exact entrance?

The office needs the actual entrance to agree a safe, lawful meeting point. KT1 identifies the origin area, not a school gate; share any School Street or private-access details too. A private-hire booking does not automatically give access to a school site or permission to stop at a restricted point.

Can my child travel without an accompanying adult?

It depends on the individual child and journey; there is no blanket age-alone arrangement. We assess support and handover, including what happens if an authorised adult is late or unavailable, and any individually assessed independent arrival arrangement. Tell us whether a parent or passenger assistant accompanies and who can receive the child.

What if the child is absent or plans change?

The booker or designated authorised contact can request an absence or change by phone or app. Give prior-day notice where possible; fees may apply under the agreed terms. Wait for acknowledgement and confirmation of the actual accepted change. A message, reference or tracking access alone does not change the agreed handover; call the office if a time-critical message has not been confirmed.

Can I bring a child seat or ask KB to provide one?

Yes. You can bring your own suitable seat or ask us to arrange one in advance, subject to availability and suitability. Tell the office the child's relevant height, weight and restraint needs; it can confirm the seat arrangement and any cost.

Can children share a school run?

Siblings can share a suitable arrangement. For children from unrelated families, each guardian must consent and agree the route and change authority. Family-specific updates and sensitive details remain private, and the plan must cover supervision at each stop.

BOOKING AND COMMISSIONS

From enquiry to confirmed journey

Our office arranges school transport for families and welcomes school or council commission enquiries. We will discuss the plan and provide a tailored quote; an enquiry, quote or payment alone is not a confirmed booking. KB confirms the booking by SMS and/or email.
