School runs from KT12 Built around your child

Arrange recurring school pickups from KT12 with an individual journey and handover plan. Our 24-hour office will discuss the school, timetable and support needs for a tailored quote.

A JOURNEY THAT FITS

School travel around your family's routine

We arrange parent-booked school journeys from KT12, whether you need a regular morning or afternoon run, selected weekdays, term-time travel, occasional cover or a one-off trip. Choose a one-way journey or return, and discuss onward stops and changed finish times with our office.

A parent can accompany the child, continue onward or be dropped off first when agreed. You can request the same driver; if a replacement is needed, the office arranges a suitable approved driver and informs the parent.

PLAN THE SCHOOL RUN

Agree the plan before the first journey

Our office agrees an individual travel plan with the authorised booker and, where relevant, the school or commissioner. KB Cars is registered with the ICO; our Privacy Notice explains how we handle booking information.

Set the route and routine

Share the KT12 collection address, destination school and exact entrance, days and times, stops and return needs. Tell us who will travel and what communication, seating, mobility or other support your child needs.

Agree the handover

Name the adults authorised to arrange and receive the child, with emergency and backup contacts. The plan covers identity checks, absence, a missing child, distress or refusal, late adults and how changed instructions are verified.

Keep changes with the office

An authorised contact can request an absence or change by phone or app; prior-day notice is encouraged and agreed fees may apply. Acknowledgment of a request is not acceptance: the office confirms the actual accepted change and informs those affected. For a time-critical change, call if a message has not been acknowledged.

SUPPORT THAT FITS

Support for your child's journey

Tell us what helps your child travel comfortably, including communication, sensory preferences, boarding, seating, restraint and handover. We agree what support is needed while driving, at each stop and if the usual arrangement changes. A driver is not automatically a passenger assistant; an assistant may be needed for supervision or communication.

Parents can provide an assistant or ask KB to source one. We agree responsibilities, a proper seat and compatibility with the plan before acceptance. Guidance to the car and loading ordinary bags or a folding wheelchair are free; telling the office in advance helps arrange the right help. KB does not currently have wheelchair-accessible vehicles, so a folded chair carried as luggage does not allow travel seated in it.

Lifting, personal care, medication, specialist equipment or physical intervention need separately competent arrangements. Tell us about any such needs so they can be considered as part of the plan.

GOOD TO KNOW

Questions about school runs from KT12

Practical answers for planning your child's journey.

Can I arrange selected days or occasional school travel?

Yes. We can discuss morning or afternoon journeys, one direction or a return, selected weekdays, term-time arrangements, occasional cover, clubs, exams and changed finish times. Tell the office the pattern you need so it can agree the route and schedule.

How do you confirm the school collection point?

We agree the exact school entrance or gate and a lawful, workable stopping and handover plan. Give us the school name, entrance and any access instructions; KT12 is the starting area, not a named school route. We check any School Street access or permissions rather than assuming private-hire access.

What happens if plans change or nobody is at handover?

Contact the office through the agreed route for an absence, delay or change of adult. The plan sets out who is authorised to receive the child and how a changed instruction is verified; a tracking invitation or PIN alone does not authorise a new recipient.

A child is not left alone because an adult is late or a code fails. The office follows the safe escalation plan, and immediate danger needs emergency action.

Is a council-funded place or school contract included?

No. Families can enquire about a parent-booked journey, and commissioners can enquire about government or council work. An enquiry does not establish council eligibility, funding or a named school contract; tell us who is arranging the journey and what acceptance requirements apply.

Can I arrange a child seat for the journey?

Yes. You can bring your own suitable child seat or ask KB to supply one by pre-booking, subject to availability and suitability. Give the office the child's relevant height, weight and seat needs so the arrangement and any charge can be agreed before travel.

Can children share a school run?

Siblings can share a suitable arrangement. For children from unrelated families, each guardian must consent, and the route, authority to make changes and private family-specific updates must be agreed. The plan must also cover children remaining in the car if an assistant escorts another child inside.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

A tailored quote and a clear confirmation

The office will discuss the route, schedule and agreed support, then provide a quote for the arrangement and its conditions. An enquiry, quote or payment alone does not confirm a booking: KB confirms it by SMS and/or email.

Drivers assigned to our school service complete KB's school-transport induction and office approval, with a briefing on the agreed journey and handover plan. You can contact the office without installing an app.
