School transport from KT17 A plan for your child

Arrange a recurring school run with an agreed handover and support plan. Tell our 24-hour office the school, days and times for a tailored quote.

FROM KT17 TO THE SCHOOL GATE

A school run built around your timetable

Arrange morning or afternoon journeys, one way or on selected weekdays, including term-time runs, occasional cover, one-off journeys, clubs, exams and changed finish times. A parent can accompany the child, continue onward or be dropped off first by agreement.

KT17 is the collection area, not a named school route. Tell us the destination school and exact entrance, and discuss any School Street access restrictions. For collection near Ewell East station on Station Approach/Cheam Road or Ewell West station on Chessington Road, give the full address and intended entrance so we can agree a safe, lawful stopping point.

YOUR SCHOOL-DAY PLAN

Agree your child’s journey

Our office agrees the collection, handover and support arrangements with you before the first run. Drivers assigned to our school service complete KB’s school-transport induction and office approval, with a briefing on the agreed journey and handover plan.

Set the schedule

Share the KT17 collection address, destination school and entrance, days, times and any stops. Tell us who is authorised to book and whether a parent or passenger assistant will accompany your child.

Agree a safe handover

Name the adults or organisation authorised to receive your child, give emergency and backup contacts, and agree how changed instructions will be verified. The driver checks the child and receiving person under the plan; a PIN or tracking access alone does not authorise handover.

Plan for changes

The authorised booker can request absences or changes through the office or app. Wait for confirmation of the accepted change; acknowledgment of a request is not acceptance. The plan also covers delays, a missing child, distress and failed handovers.

SUPPORT THAT FITS THE PLAN

Support matched to the child

Tell us what helps your child travel comfortably, including communication, sensory preferences, boarding, seating, restraint and handover needs. A passenger assistant can support boarding, communication, supervision, agreed responses to distress and handover while the driver concentrates on driving. You can provide an assistant or ask KB to source one; the responsibilities and route must be agreed.

Guidance to the car and loading ordinary bags are free; tell the office about the help needed so it can be coordinated. Medication, personal care, weight-bearing transfers, specialist equipment and physical intervention need a suitable plan, person and competence. Ordinary driver assistance is not a substitute for specialist care.

GOOD TO KNOW

Questions about school runs from KT17

Practical answers for planning and managing your child’s journey.

What should I include in my enquiry?

Give us the KT17 collection address, destination school and exact entrance, days, pickup and drop-off times, passengers, stops and any term-time or changed-finish pattern. Include authorised adults, emergency contacts and your child’s communication, seating, restraint and assistance needs so we can discuss a tailored quote. KB Cars is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO); our Privacy Notice explains how we handle your booking information.

A booking is confirmed when KB sends confirmation by SMS and/or email. An enquiry, quote or payment attempt alone does not confirm the car.

Can I provide a passenger assistant?

Yes. You can provide an assistant or ask KB to source one. The assistant needs a proper seat, clear responsibilities and a plan that fits the child and the whole shared route. An assistant is not automatically needed for every child; agree any specialist care and the competence needed separately.

Can I request the same driver?

Yes. Same-driver arrangements are available on request. If a genuine problem requires a replacement, the office arranges a suitable approved driver and informs you. The agreed travel and handover plan remains the reference for the substitute.

How are changes or missed handovers handled?

The authorised booker can request an absence or change by phone or app. Prior-day notice is encouraged and fees may apply under agreed terms. The office verifies the instruction and confirms the accepted schedule; a message or acknowledgment alone is not a completed change. For a time-critical request, call the office if it has not been confirmed.

If a child is not met or a code fails, the driver contacts the office and follows the agreed supervision and escalation plan rather than leaving the child alone. If a child is unexpectedly missing, the office establishes what the school or guardian knows and escalates according to the risk.

Can I arrange a child seat?

Yes. You can bring your own suitable seat or ask KB to supply one when you pre-book. Tell the office your child’s relevant height, weight and restraint needs so it can confirm availability, suitability and the price.

Can children share a school run?

Siblings can share a suitable arrangement. For children from different families, each guardian must consent and the route and authority to make changes must be agreed. Family-specific updates and details remain private, and the plan must cover handover at each stop.
