SCHOOL TRANSPORT FROM KT18

School runs from KT18 planned around your child

Arrange a recurring school journey from KT18 around your child’s school, days and timings. Our 24-hour office will discuss your plans and provide a tailored quote.

START WITH THE JOURNEY

A school run that fits your family

KB Cars arranges parent-booked school journeys from KT18, from regular morning or afternoon runs to selected weekdays, term-time plans, occasional cover and one-off trips. You can request the same driver; if a genuine problem requires a replacement, our office arranges a suitable approved driver and informs you.

KT18 is the collection area, not a named school route. We agree the actual collection point, destination school and entrance, timetable and handover before the first journey.

PLAN THE RUN

A clear plan for each school journey

Before the first run, we agree an individual journey plan with the authorised parent and, where relevant, the school or commissioner.

Agree the child’s plan

Give us the collection address, school and exact entrance, days and times, and what helps your child travel comfortably. Include communication, mobility, seating or restraint needs and whether a parent or passenger assistant travels. We agree the route and support around the plan. KB Cars is registered with the ICO; our Privacy Notice explains how we handle booking information.

Confirm collection and handover

Name the authorised adult or organisation receiving your child, provide emergency and backup contacts, and agree how changes are verified. Driver and vehicle details help identification; tracking access or a PIN alone does not authorise a different recipient.

Keep changes with the office

An authorised parent or contact can request absences, delays or changed finish times by phone or app. Give prior-day notice where possible; agreed fees may apply. Acknowledgment of a request is not acceptance: wait for confirmation of the actual change. If a time-critical request has not been confirmed, call the office.

SUPPORT THAT FITS THE PLAN

Tell us what helps your child travel comfortably

A parent may travel with the child, provide a passenger assistant (PA), or ask KB to arrange one. If your child travels without a parent, we assess the arrangement and agree suitable support. We agree the PA’s role, seat and responsibilities. A PA can help with communication, supervision and handover while the driver concentrates on driving.

You can bring your own suitable child seat or ask us to arrange one; discuss your child’s requirements and seat availability with the office. Guidance to the car and loading ordinary bags are free; telling us in advance helps us arrange suitable help.

Medication, personal care, weight-bearing transfers, physical intervention and specialist equipment need an individual plan, relevant competence and practical checks before acceptance. Discuss those needs with the office before the first journey.

GOOD TO KNOW

School transport from KT18: your questions

A few practical answers before you arrange a school journey from KT18.

Can I arrange more than a daily school run?

Yes. We can discuss morning or afternoon journeys, one direction, selected weekdays, term-time plans, occasional cover, clubs, exams and one-off trips. A parent can travel, continue onward or be dropped off first if agreed. Tell us the pattern and any onward or return plan so the quote reflects the arrangement.

What does “from KT18” tell you?

It identifies the collection area, not a named school route. Give us the full collection address, school and exact entrance so we can agree the journey. If the school has a School Street or other access restrictions, we will need to confirm the actual access and permissions rather than assume private hire can enter.

What happens if nobody is ready at handover?

Your child will not simply be left or treated as a no-show. The office follows the agreed contact and escalation plan, maintains safe supervision and verifies the authorised recipient. Agree backup contacts and what should happen if a parent or school contact is delayed or a code fails.

Can I use this for council-arranged transport?

KB welcomes government and council contract enquiries as well as parent-booked journeys. A private enquiry does not establish council eligibility, funding or an existing school contract; the office will discuss the relevant arrangement and information needed.

BEFORE YOU TRAVEL

From enquiry to an agreed journey

Our office will discuss the plan and provide a quote for the agreed arrangement. An enquiry, quote or payment alone does not confirm a booking: KB sends booking confirmation by SMS and/or email.

Drivers assigned to our school service complete KB’s school-transport induction and office approval, with a briefing on the agreed journey and handover plan.
