School runs from KT19

Arrange a school journey around your child, from regular pickups to occasional cover. Contact our 24-hour office to discuss the school, timetable and support needed for a tailored quote.

A JOURNEY THAT FITS

From KT19 to the school you choose

KT19 is the collection area, not a fixed school route. We arrange parent-booked journeys in the morning or afternoon, for one direction or a return, on selected weekdays or throughout term time. Ask us about occasional cover, clubs, exams and changed finish times too.

A parent can travel, continue onward or be dropped off first when agreed. Tell us the collection address and the school’s exact gate or entrance, so we can assess the journey and provide a tailored quote. Check any School Street access or permissions with the office; private-hire status does not automatically confer access.

YOUR CHILD’S JOURNEY

A clear plan before the first run

We agree collection, travel and handover with the authorised booker, and with the school or commissioner where relevant.

Agree the individual plan

Set the schedule, stop order, backup contacts and support your child needs. We agree whether a parent or passenger assistant accompanies them, and plan for delays, distress or a child unexpectedly missing from collection.

Make handover clear

The plan names who may receive your child and what happens if no authorised person is present. The office verifies changes through the agreed authority route; app access or a PIN alone does not authorise a new recipient. If handover cannot be completed, your child remains supervised while the office is contacted and the agreed escalation plan is followed.

Keep the office informed

The authorised booker or contact can request an absence or change through the office. For a time-critical change, seek acknowledgement and call if the office has not acknowledged your message. Acknowledgement of a request is not acceptance: wait for confirmation of the actual change.

SUPPORT FOR YOUR CHILD

Agree the right help before travel

Tell us how your child communicates, what helps them board and settle, and their seating, restraint and handover needs. A parent may provide a passenger assistant (PA), or KB can source one. A PA can support communication, supervision and handover while the driver concentrates on driving; we agree the responsibilities for your child’s journey.

Give us the exact collection door or agreed meeting point and any walking limitation. Guidance to the car and loading ordinary bags or a folding wheelchair are free; tell the office what help is needed so it can be arranged. KB has no wheelchair-accessible vehicles, so discuss safe boarding and seating; a folded chair travels as luggage, not as a seat.

Medication, personal care, lifting, specialist equipment and physical intervention require separate competence and an individual plan. Do not assume that a driver or PA can provide these tasks. You can bring a suitable child seat or ask KB to arrange one; discuss your child’s requirements and availability before travel.

GOOD TO KNOW

School transport from KT19: your questions

Practical answers for planning your child’s journey.

What should I include in my first enquiry?

Give the full KT19 collection address, destination school and exact gate, days and morning or afternoon times, plus term-time or occasional dates. Include the child and authorised booker details, any parent or PA travelling, communication, mobility, seating or restraint needs, backup contacts and a changed-finish plan where relevant. KB Cars is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). Our Privacy Notice explains how we handle your booking information.

The office will discuss the arrangement and its tailored quote. An enquiry, quote or payment alone is not a confirmed booking: KB confirms acceptance by SMS and/or email.

Is this a fixed route or a council-funded school service?

No. This page helps parents arrange an individual journey starting in KT19; it does not describe a named-school route, an existing contract or eligibility for council travel. Schools and councils can also enquire: tell the office which organisation is responsible so the relevant acceptance requirements can be considered.

What if the usual driver or school finish changes?

Ask the office to make the change. An authorised contact can request absences, late finishes, extra stops or a replacement; prior-day notice is encouraged and fees may apply under the agreed terms. A request remains pending until the office confirms the accepted change.

You can request the same driver. If a genuine problem requires a replacement, the office arranges a suitable approved driver and informs you.

Can I provide a child seat or request one?

Yes. You can bring your own suitable seat or ask KB to supply one by pre-booking, subject to suitability and availability. Tell the office your child’s age and relevant height, weight and seat requirements; the office can confirm the arrangement and price.

Can children share a school run?

Siblings can share a suitable arrangement. For children from unrelated families, each guardian must consent and agree the route and change authority. Family-specific updates remain private. The plan must also cover children remaining in the car if a PA escorts another child inside.

SCHOOL JOURNEY SUPPORT

An office and driver briefed on the plan

Drivers assigned to our school service complete KB’s school-transport induction and office approval, with a briefing on the agreed journey and handover plan. Our 24-hour office is there to help with the arrangement and changes; an app is not required.
