YOUR SCHOOL JOURNEY

A school run that fits your timetable

We arrange school transport from KT3 for morning or afternoon journeys, one direction or both, selected weekdays and term-time schedules. You can also discuss one-off journeys, occasional cover, clubs, exams and changed finish times.

KT3 is the pickup area, not the destination. Tell us the collection address, destination school and exact entrance or gate, plus the days and times you need. We will discuss the arrangement and provide a tailored quote. An enquiry or quote is not a booking: KB confirms a booking by SMS and/or email.

YOUR CHILD'S TRAVEL PLAN

Agree the plan before the first journey

Our office agrees an individual plan with the authorised booker, so the people involved know what to do on the journey and at handover. KB Cars is registered with the ICO; our Privacy Notice explains how we handle booking information.

Plan the journey and support

Agree the route, schedule and how your child communicates, boards and travels comfortably. Include the support needed at each stop, backup contacts and arrangements if your child is delayed, absent or distressed.

Agree collection and handover

Name the adults authorised to collect or receive your child and agree how changes will be verified. We also plan what happens if a child is missing or the expected recipient is unavailable.

Keep the plan up to date

The authorised booker or designated contact can request an absence or change through the office or agreed channel. Receipt is not acceptance: the office confirms the actual change and any revised charge. If a time-critical message is not confirmed, call the office.

SUPPORT FOR YOUR CHILD

Agree the support that makes the journey work

Tell us about communication, sensory preferences, mobility, boarding, seating or restraint, folded equipment and handover. A parent may accompany the child, you can provide a passenger assistant (PA), or ask KB to source one. A PA can help with boarding, communication, supervision and agreed handover while the driver concentrates on driving; a driver alone may not be sufficient for every need. A PA needs a passenger seat, which we will account for when planning the vehicle.

You can bring a suitable child seat or ask us to arrange one in advance, subject to availability and suitability. Tell the office about the child's relevant seat needs. Medication, personal care, weight-bearing transfers and specialist intervention require the right competence and an agreed plan. Our fleet is not wheelchair-accessible: a folded chair may travel as luggage where suitable, but the child cannot travel seated in it.

GOOD TO KNOW

Questions parents ask

Answers to practical questions about school journeys from KT3.

Can you arrange a school run on selected days?

Yes. We can discuss morning or afternoon travel, one direction or both, selected weekdays, term-time schedules, occasional cover, one-off journeys, clubs, exams and changed finish times. Tell us which days are fixed and which may vary.

Is KT3 enough to identify the journey?

No. KT3 identifies the pickup area, not the destination school or gate. Give us the collection address, school name and exact entrance. For a pickup near New Malden station, specify the entrance and any walking or access needs; the station is not itself permission to stop. If a School Street restriction affects the school entrance, we will discuss actual access and a workable handover.

Can I ask for the same driver?

Yes. You can request a same-driver arrangement as part of your child's plan. If a genuine problem means a replacement is needed, the office arranges a suitable approved driver and informs you.

What if the usual handover changes?

The authorised booker or designated contact should request the change through the agreed office channel before the journey where possible. An app update or acknowledgment of the request is not acceptance; the office must confirm the changed arrangement. If an authorised adult is late or absent, the child is not left alone: the agreed contact and escalation plan applies.

How do I report an absence or changed finish time?

The authorised booker or designated contact can request it by phone or app, or through the agreed channel. Give notice the previous day where possible; fees may apply under the agreed terms. The office confirms the actual booking or schedule change and informs affected people. If a time-critical message is not confirmed, call the office.

FAMILIES AND COMMISSIONERS

A planned service with office support

We arrange school transport for families and welcome school or council commission enquiries. Drivers assigned to our school service complete KB's school-transport induction and office approval, with a briefing on the agreed journey and handover plan. Our 24-hour office is available to help coordinate the arrangement; you do not need to install an app to contact us.
