A school run built around your timetable

We arrange school transport from KT6 for regular mornings or afternoons, one-way journeys, selected weekdays and term-time schedules. One-off or occasional cover, clubs, exams and changed finish times can also be discussed.

For a tailored quote, tell our office the collection address, destination school and actual entrance, days and timings. KT6 identifies the origin area, not a particular door or school. An enquiry, quote or payment attempt alone is not a booking: KB confirms an accepted booking by SMS and/or email.

A clear plan for your child

We agree the route, handover and support with the authorised booker before the first journey.

Agree the travel plan

We’ll agree the schedule, route and stop order, support needs and backup contacts, including what to do if a child is missing or distressed or a journey is delayed. A parent can accompany the child, continue onward or be dropped off first when agreed.

Confirm the handover

The plan names who may receive your child and how a change of adult is verified. Driver and vehicle details help identification, but an app invitation or PIN alone does not authorise handover. If no authorised adult is present, your child is not left alone.

Keep the office updated

An authorised contact can request an absence or change through the office or agreed app route; prior-day notice is encouraged and agreed fees may apply. Receipt of a request is not acceptance: wait for confirmation of the actual change. For an urgent change, call the office if your message has not been acknowledged.

Support agreed around your child

Tell us what helps your child travel comfortably, including communication, sensory preferences, boarding, seating, restraint needs and handover. You can bring a suitable child seat or ask us to arrange one; discuss your child’s age and relevant height, weight and seat needs with the office so we can confirm suitability and availability. KB Cars is registered with the ICO; our Privacy Notice explains how we handle booking information.

We can arrange guidance to the car and loading of ordinary bags or a folding wheelchair as luggage without charge. Tell us what help is needed; advance notice helps us coordinate it. KB does not currently have wheelchair-accessible vehicles, so a folded chair carried as luggage does not allow travel seated in it.

You can provide a passenger assistant or ask KB to source one. The assistant needs a seat and a clear role in support and handover while the driver concentrates on driving. Weight-bearing lifting, clinical care, trained transfers, medication, personal care and physical intervention need separate assessment and suitably competent arrangements before acceptance. Same-driver arrangements are available on request, though a suitable replacement may be needed if circumstances change.

Answers to common questions about the journey and its arrangements.

Does KT6 identify the collection point?

No. KT6 names the origin area only. Give the exact door or proposed meeting point, the school’s actual entrance and any access restrictions. A landmark or station address can help identify a place, but does not grant permission to stop, enter private access or use a School Street.

Can the schedule change from day to day?

Yes. We can discuss mornings or afternoons, selected weekdays, term-time travel, one-off or occasional cover, clubs, exams and changed finish times. Agree the expected pattern and who can authorise changes. A requested change is not active just because it has been received; the office must confirm it has been accepted.

What if the usual adult or driver is unavailable?

The agreed plan sets out backup contacts and what to do if no authorised recipient is present. Your child is not left alone: the office follows the safe escalation plan. If the driver has a genuine problem, the office arranges a suitable approved replacement and informs you.

Can siblings or children from different families share?

Siblings can share a suitable arrangement. For children from unrelated families, each guardian must consent, and the route and change authority must be agreed. Family-specific updates stay private, including addresses, support information and messages.

Office support throughout the arrangement

We arrange school transport for families and welcome school or council commission enquiries. Drivers assigned to our school service complete KB’s school-transport induction and office approval, with a briefing on the agreed journey and handover plan.

Our office is available 24 hours a day to help with the arrangement. You do not need to install an app to contact us.
