SCHOOL TRANSPORT

School transport from KT8

Arrange a recurring school run around your child’s timetable and support needs. Our 24-hour office can discuss the journey and provide a tailored quote.

YOUR SCHOOL JOURNEY

A school run built around your timetable

We arrange morning or afternoon school journeys from KT8, including one-way runs, selected weekdays and term-time schedules. Ask about one-off journeys, occasional cover, clubs, exams or a changed finish time too. A parent can accompany the child, continue onward or be dropped off first by agreement.

KT8 is the starting area, not a complete pickup point. Give us the collection address, destination school and exact entrance or gate. If meeting near Hampton Court station, identify the station and intended approach separately; its name does not give a vehicle permission to stop. We also need to check any School Street access restrictions and permissions.

BEFORE THE FIRST RUN

Agree the journey and handover

We build an individual plan with the authorised booker and, where relevant, the school or commissioner. KB Cars is registered with the ICO; our Privacy Notice explains how we handle booking information.

Set the schedule and support

Agree the collection and school entrance, days and timings, who accompanies the child, and their communication, seating, restraint and assistance needs. The office quotes for the agreed arrangement.

Agree authorised handover

Name the adults authorised to collect or receive the child, provide emergency and backup contacts, and agree how changes are verified. A PIN or app update alone does not authorise a different adult.

Plan for changes and cover

The plan covers absence, delay, a missing child, distress or refusal, and what happens if no authorised adult is available. Request a change through the agreed office route; an acknowledgement of receipt is not acceptance. Wait for confirmation of the actual change.

SUPPORT THAT FITS

Support arranged around your child

Tell us what helps your child travel comfortably, including communication, sensory preferences or triggers, boarding, seating and handover needs. You can provide a passenger assistant (PA), or ask KB to source one. We agree their responsibilities with you: a PA has a proper seat and can support boarding, communication, supervision and handover while the driver concentrates on driving.

You can request the same driver. If a genuine issue requires a replacement, our office arranges a suitable approved driver and informs you. Ordinary help such as guiding someone to the car or loading ordinary bags is distinct from specialist care. Medication, lifting, personal care, specialist equipment or physical intervention require an individually suitable plan and competent arrangements before acceptance.

GOOD TO KNOW

School transport questions

Practical answers for planning your child’s journey from KT8.

Can my child travel without a parent or passenger assistant?

Some children can travel unaccompanied, but there is no blanket arrangement for every age. We assess the individual journey and support needed; a passenger assistant may be needed for supervision while the driver concentrates on driving. An older child’s independent arrival is agreed individually.

Can you help if my child needs a seat or extra boarding support?

Yes. Bring your own suitable child seat or ask KB to arrange one before travel; the office checks availability, suitability and the applicable price. Share the child’s relevant height, weight and restraint needs, as well as any help needed with walking, entry, boarding or seating. Ordinary guidance to the car and loading ordinary bags are free. Lifting or clinical care needs separately competent arrangements.

What if we need to report an absence or a late collection?

The authorised contact can request a change by the agreed phone or app route. Give notice the day before where possible; agreed terms may affect fees. The office may acknowledge receipt first, but the change is only agreed when it confirms the actual updated schedule or booking. If a message has not been confirmed and the change is time-critical, call the office.

If a receiving adult is late or cannot be verified, the child is not left alone. The office follows the agreed safe handover and escalation plan.

Can siblings share one school run?

Yes, siblings can share a suitable arrangement. If children from unrelated families travel together, each guardian must consent to the route and change authority; family-specific addresses, support details and updates stay private. We agree the stop order and handover cover before acceptance, including supervision of children remaining in the car if a PA escorts one child inside.

YOUR BOOKING

From enquiry to confirmed arrangement

We arrange school transport for families and welcome school or council commission enquiries. Our office discusses the journey and provides a tailored quote; an enquiry, quote or payment alone does not confirm a booking. KB confirms accepted bookings by SMS and/or email.

Drivers assigned to our school service complete KB’s school-transport induction and office approval, with a briefing on the agreed journey and handover plan.
