School runs from SM7 A plan for your child

Arrange recurring school pickups from SM7 with a journey and handover plan tailored to your child. Our 24-hour office will discuss the school and timetable and provide a tailored quote.

START WITH THE ROUTE

School transport from SM7, arranged around your timetable

We arrange parent-booked school journeys from SM7, including morning or afternoon runs, one-way journeys and selected weekdays. Tell our office the collection address, destination school and entrance, days and times so we can discuss the arrangement and a tailored quote.

SM7 is the starting area, not a named school route. If a landmark such as Banstead station on Banstead Road helps identify a collection, give the exact address too and explain any walking or approach needs. We will agree a lawful meeting point; a landmark does not itself give permission to stop or enter a site.

An enquiry or quote is not a confirmed booking. Your booking is confirmed when the office sends confirmation by SMS and/or email.

BEFORE THE FIRST RUN

Agree the child’s journey and handover

Before the first run, we agree an individual travel plan with the authorised booker and, where relevant, the school or commissioner.

Agree the child’s plan

Agree the schedule, communication, seating or restraint and assistance needs, emergency and backup contacts, and the role of any parent or passenger assistant. The plan also covers delays, distress, a missing child and replacement arrangements.

Confirm collection and handover

Agree the collection point and authorised receiving person or organisation. We verify the child and handover under the plan; tracking or a PIN can help identification but does not authorise a new recipient or change.

Coordinate changes safely

The authorised contact can request absences, delays, new adults or timing changes through the agreed contact route. The office confirms an accepted change; acknowledgement of a request alone does not change the plan. For a time-critical request, call the office if your message has not been acknowledged.

Sharing a journey Siblings can share a suitable run. For unrelated families, agree each guardian’s consent, stop order, change authority and each child’s handover; family-specific updates remain private. A parent may accompany or continue onward when agreed. If an assistant escorts one child inside, the plan must cover the children remaining in the car.

SUPPORT THAT FITS THE PLAN

Tell us what helps your child travel comfortably

Tell us what helps your child with boarding, communication, waiting or handover. A parent can provide a passenger assistant, or KB can arrange one. The plan sets their responsibilities, and the assistant needs a passenger seat.

Guidance to the car and loading ordinary bags or a folding wheelchair are free. Tell the office in advance what help is needed so it can arrange a suitable driver. Discuss any escort inside a building separately, including the task and any agreed cost. Tell the office about clinical care, weight-bearing lifting, medication, personal care or specialist handling so it can assess whether competent support can be agreed.

KB has no wheelchair-accessible vehicles. A folding chair can travel as luggage where suitable, but the child must be able to board and travel in a vehicle seat. You can bring a suitable child seat or ask KB to arrange one; discuss the child’s seat requirements and availability with the office.

GOOD TO KNOW

Questions parents ask about SM7 school runs

Practical answers for planning your child’s journey.

Can I arrange only certain school days or changing finishes?

Yes. Discuss mornings or afternoons, one direction, selected weekdays, term-time, occasional cover or a one-off journey, including clubs, exams and changed finish times. A parent can accompany the child, continue onward or be dropped off first when agreed.

What school entrance should I give you?

Give the school name, exact gate or entrance and any access instructions. School Street controls and private-site rules need checking; private-hire status is not a blanket exemption. If the meeting point needs to change, agree a lawful, safe alternative with the office.

What happens if nobody is there at handover?

Your child is not left alone because an adult is late, a code fails or a change is disputed. The office stays involved, maintains supervision and follows the agreed escalation plan for the authorised receiving person or organisation. Immediate danger requires emergency action.

Can I request the same driver each day?

Yes. The office can record your request for the same driver in the journey plan. If a genuine problem requires a change, it will arrange a suitable approved replacement and inform you.

SCHOOL TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS

A supported journey, agreed with the office

Drivers assigned to our school service complete KB’s school-transport induction and office approval, with a briefing on the agreed journey and handover plan. We arrange journeys for families and also welcome school or council commission enquiries.
