School runs from SW12 A plan for your child

Arrange recurring school pickups from SW12 around your child’s school, timetable and support needs. Our 24-hour office will discuss the arrangement and provide a tailored quote.

YOUR SCHOOL JOURNEY

School transport from SW12, planned around your family

Choose morning or afternoon travel, one direction or a return, selected weekdays, term-time runs, one-off journeys or occasional cover. We can also discuss clubs, exams and changed finish times. A parent may accompany the child, continue onward or be dropped off first when agreed.

SW12 identifies the starting area, not the destination school or route. Tell our office the collection address, school and exact entrance, days and times. We can agree the stop order, vehicle and any return or onward journey with the authorised parent or commissioner.

Your tailored quote sets out the price and agreed scope. An enquiry, quote or payment alone does not confirm the booking: KB confirms the journey by SMS and/or email.

BEFORE THE FIRST RUN

A clear plan for each child

We agree the journey and handover with the authorised parent or commissioner before travel begins.

Agree the travel plan

Alongside the schedule and stops, agree the child’s communication, seating, restraint and support needs, who will accompany them, and how the office should communicate with you.

Set the handover

Name the adults authorised to collect and receive the child, agree the handover method and provide backup contacts. The driver checks the child and recipient against the plan; a PIN or app invitation alone does not change permission.

Plan for disruption

Agree what happens if a child is missing, distressed or refuses to travel, if there is a delay or no authorised recipient, or if a replacement is needed. A child is not left alone because an adult is late or a code fails: the driver maintains safe supervision, contacts the office and follows the agreed escalation plan.

Need a shared run? Siblings can share a suitable arrangement. For children from unrelated families, each guardian must consent and agree the route and change authority; family-specific updates remain private.

SUPPORT THAT FITS THE CHILD

Support that fits your child

Tell us how your child communicates, what helps them feel comfortable and any boarding, seating, restraint or handover needs. We agree a practical plan for the journey and for changes to the usual arrangement. You can accompany your child, provide a passenger assistant (PA), or ask KB to source one. KB Cars is registered with the ICO. Our Privacy Notice explains how we handle your booking information.

A PA can help with boarding, communication, supervision, responses to distress and handover while the driver concentrates on driving. The PA has an agreed role and occupies a passenger seat. Medication, lifting, personal care or specialist intervention require an individual plan and suitable competence before acceptance.

Guidance to the car and loading ordinary bags or a folding wheelchair are free when arranged in advance; tell the office what help is needed so it can coordinate a suitable driver. This does not limit required disability assistance. An optional additional escort is a separate arrangement, with any cost agreed for the actual task.

KB does not have wheelchair-accessible vehicles. A folding chair can travel as luggage where safe; discuss boarding and seating needs with the office. You can bring a suitable child seat or ask KB to arrange one in advance, subject to availability and suitability. Give the office the child’s relevant age, height, weight and seat requirements, and ask about the cost.

FAMILIES AND COMMISSIONERS

School transport with office support

We arrange school transport for families and welcome school or council commission enquiries. Drivers assigned to our school service complete KB’s school-transport induction and office approval, with a briefing on the agreed journey and handover plan.

Our office is available 24 hours a day, and you do not need to install an app to contact us. Calls answered in under 30 seconds on average.

GOOD TO KNOW

Questions parents ask about SW12 school runs

Answers on local collections, driver continuity, accompanying adults and changes to the agreed plan.

How should I describe a collection near Balham?

Give the office the full collection address and a safe proposed meeting point. Balham Rail Station is on Balham Station Road, while Balham Underground Station is on Balham High Road, so specify which entrance you mean if either is your landmark.

Also tell us the destination school and exact entrance. A station landmark does not establish a school route or permission to stop; any School Street access or permission must be checked for the actual journey.

Can I request the same driver for each school run?

Yes. Ask the office to arrange the same driver as part of your child’s plan. If a genuine problem requires a replacement, the office arranges a suitable approved driver and informs the parent; the same person cannot be guaranteed on every run.

Can a parent or passenger assistant travel with my child?

Yes. A parent may accompany the child when agreed, or you can provide a PA or ask KB to source one. The office agrees the route, seating, handover and PA responsibilities with you. A driver alone is not automatically sufficient for every support need, and specialist tasks require separate competence.

What if the school timetable or collection changes?

The authorised booker can request an absence or change through the office or agreed app route. Give the new time, address, stop or recipient as relevant; prior-day notice is encouraged and fees may apply under the agreed terms.

Wait for confirmation that the change has been accepted and the schedule or booking updated. Receipt of a request is not acceptance, and a PIN does not authorise a new recipient. The office informs affected people. For a time-critical change, call the office if a message has not been acknowledged.
