Agree the child’s plan
Record the route and schedule, communication, mobility, seating and restraint needs, who accompanies the child, and emergency and backup contacts. Agree what happens during delay, distress or a missing-child concern.
SCHOOL TRANSPORT · SW13
Arrange regular school pickups or occasional cover with our 24-hour office. We’ll discuss the school, timetable and support your child needs for a tailored quote.
YOUR SCHOOL JOURNEY
From SW13, we arrange morning or afternoon school journeys, selected weekdays, term-time travel, one-way runs and occasional cover. We can also discuss clubs, exams and changed finish times.
Tell our office the collection address, destination school and actual entrance, days and timings, and whether a parent or passenger assistant will travel. Near Barnes station or Barnes Bridge, a landmark alone does not identify the school gate. Tell us about private access or School Street restrictions so we can agree a lawful, practical meeting point.
BEFORE THE FIRST RUN
Before the first run, we agree the plan with the authorised booker and, where relevant, the school or commissioner.
Record the route and schedule, communication, mobility, seating and restraint needs, who accompanies the child, and emergency and backup contacts. Agree what happens during delay, distress or a missing-child concern.
Name the adults or organisation authorised to collect or receive your child and agree how changes are verified. The plan covers a late or unavailable adult and any handover that cannot go ahead; your child is not left alone.
An authorised contact can request absences or changes by phone or app. Prior-day notice is helpful where possible, and fees may apply under agreed terms. Acknowledgement of a request is not acceptance: the updated journey must be confirmed. For a time-critical change, call the office if you have not received confirmation of the updated journey.
SUPPORT AND CONTINUITY
Tell us what helps your child travel comfortably, including communication, boarding, seating, restraint and handover. A parent can accompany the child, provide a passenger assistant, or ask KB to source one. We agree the role and journey plan before acceptance: a passenger assistant can support travel and handover while the driver concentrates on driving.
Ask for the same driver if continuity matters. If a genuine problem requires a replacement, the office will arrange a suitable approved driver and inform you. Drivers assigned to our school service complete KB’s school-transport induction and office approval, with a briefing on the agreed journey and handover plan.
Guidance to the car and loading ordinary bags or a folding wheelchair are free. Tell the office in advance about the help needed so we can arrange a suitable driver. KB does not have wheelchair-accessible vehicles, so discuss safe boarding and seating if a folding chair is carried. Medication, lifting, personal care and specialist handling need separately competent arrangements.
GOOD TO KNOW
Practical answers for planning your child’s journey.
Yes. We can discuss morning or afternoon travel, selected weekdays, term-time arrangements, one-off journeys, clubs, exams and changed finish times. A parent can accompany the child, continue onward or be dropped off first when agreed.
No. Support is agreed for the individual child. A parent may accompany them, provide an assistant or ask KB to source one; a driver alone is not always enough. Medication, personal care and specialist handling need separately competent arrangements before acceptance.
Give us the full collection address, destination school and actual entrance. Barnes station and Barnes Bridge can help identify the area, but neither identifies a school gate or grants permission to stop on private or restricted access. Agree the practical meeting point with the office.
Contact the office so the change can be verified and the revised arrangement confirmed. Receipt of a request alone does not accept it. If a driver needs replacing, the office arranges a suitable approved replacement and informs you; if a receiving adult is late or unavailable, the child remains supervised under the agreed plan.
Yes. You can bring your own suitable seat or ask KB to supply one by pre-booking, subject to availability and suitability. Tell the office your child’s relevant height, weight and restraint needs, and confirm the price and arrangement before travel.
QUOTE AND BOOKING
Our office will discuss the route, schedule and any support before giving you a tailored quote. An enquiry, quote or payment alone does not confirm a booking: KB confirms the booking by SMS and/or email.
We arrange school transport for families and welcome school or council commission enquiries. A parent-arranged journey is separate from council eligibility or a school contract, whose requirements need their own agreement.
