SUPPORT THAT FITS
Support that matches your child's journey
Tell us what helps your child travel comfortably, including communication, sensory preferences, boarding, seating, restraint and handover. A passenger assistant can support boarding, communication, supervision and agreed responses while the driver concentrates on driving. You can provide an assistant or ask KB to arrange one; their role and compatibility with the travel plan are agreed before acceptance.
Guidance to the car and loading ordinary bags or a folding wheelchair are free. Tell the office about the help needed so it can arrange a suitable driver. KB does not currently have wheelchair-accessible vehicles, so a folding chair carried as luggage is not a way to travel seated in it.
Medication, personal care, weight-bearing transfers, specialist equipment or physical intervention require a separate plan, competence and cover; an ordinary driver or assistant is not automatically trained for them. You can bring a suitable child seat or ask KB to arrange one in advance, subject to availability and suitability; discuss the child's restraint needs and any cost with the office.
