SCHOOL RUNS · SW16

School runs from SW16

Arrange recurring school pickups with a child-specific plan for collection, handover and support. Tell our 24-hour office the school, days and times for a tailored quote.

A SCHOOL RUN THAT FITS

School transport planned around your child

Arrange morning or afternoon journeys, one direction or a return, selected weekdays, term-time travel, occasional cover or a one-off trip. Clubs, exams and changed finish times can be included when agreed.

SW16 is the starting area, not a named school route. Give the office your collection address, destination school, exact entrance or gate and timetable, including different homes or stops. We can check the proposed meeting point and any School Street access or permissions with you.

Your tailored quote sets out the price and agreed scope. An enquiry or quote is not a confirmed booking: KB confirms the booking by SMS and/or email.

BEFORE THE FIRST RUN

Agree the plan before the first run

We agree an individual journey plan with the authorised booker and, where relevant, the school or commissioner.

Route, timing and support

Agree the collection and destination, days and times, and what help your child needs at each stop. Tell us whether a parent or passenger assistant will accompany them; a parent can also continue onward or be dropped off first when agreed.

Authorised handover

Name the authorised booker, receiving adults or organisation and backup contacts. Agree how the child and any changed adult will be verified. App access or a PIN may help identification, but neither alone authorises handover.

Absences, delays and disruption

Agree how to handle an absence, delay, missing child, distress, no recipient or replacement. An authorised contact requests changes; the office confirms an accepted change and informs affected people. If a recipient is unavailable, the child is not left alone: the office is contacted and the agreed escalation plan is followed.

SUPPORT THAT FITS THE PLAN

Support for the journey

Tell us what helps your child travel comfortably, including communication, sensory preferences, boarding, seating, restraint and handover. We agree the support with you and record only what is needed for safe travel. KB Cars is registered with the ICO; our Privacy Notice explains how we handle booking information.

Guidance to the car and loading a folding wheelchair are available without charge; telling the office about the help needed helps us coordinate it. KB does not have wheelchair-accessible vehicles, so children cannot travel seated in a wheelchair. We'll agree safe boarding and seating with you. Lifting, transfers and clinical care are not included in ordinary assistance.

You can provide a passenger assistant or ask KB to source one. A PA can help with boarding, communication, supervision and handover while the driver concentrates on driving. Specialist tasks need separate assessment, competence and acceptance. Same-driver arrangements are available on request; if a replacement is needed, the office arranges a suitable approved driver and informs the parent.

GOOD TO KNOW

Questions parents ask about SW16 school runs

Practical answers for planning collection, the timetable and support.

Can you collect from my SW16 address?

Yes, we can discuss collection from your SW16 address and agree a safe, lawful meeting point. Give us the full address and relevant entrance or access details; SW16 alone does not identify a stopping point or school route. Keep sensitive buzzer or access instructions in the booking or a verified office conversation.

Can I arrange selected days, absences or occasional cover?

Yes. Mornings, afternoons, one direction, selected weekdays, term-time, occasional cover and one-off trips can be agreed, including clubs, exams and changed finishes. Tell us about return or onward plans when you enquire.

An authorised contact can request an absence or change by phone or app. Prior-day notice is encouraged and fees may apply under the agreed terms. Receipt of a request is not acceptance: the office confirms the actual change once accepted.

Can I provide a passenger assistant?

Yes. You can provide an assistant or ask KB to source one. Agree the PA's role and suitability for the journey; a parent-supplied adult is not automatically employed or vetted by KB. Medication, personal care, lifting and other specialist tasks require separate competence and acceptance.

Can my child use their own seat?

Yes. You can bring a suitable child seat or ask KB to supply one by pre-booking, subject to availability and suitability. Tell the office your child's age, relevant height, weight and restraint needs so the arrangement and any charge can be confirmed before travel.

Can children share a school run?

Siblings can share a suitable arrangement. For children from unrelated families, each guardian must consent, and the route and authority to request changes must be agreed. Family-specific updates and sensitive details remain private; the plan must also cover supervision at each stop.

SCHOOL SERVICE

An agreed plan, with office support

Drivers assigned to our school service complete KB's school-transport induction and office approval, with a briefing on the agreed journey and handover plan. Our 24-hour office is available to help with arrangements and disruption.

We arrange journeys for families and welcome school or council commission enquiries. Each arrangement is assessed and agreed for the children and journey involved.
