SCHOOL JOURNEYS

School runs from SW20 A plan for your child

Arrange recurring school pickups from SW20 around your child’s timetable and support needs. Our 24-hour office will agree the journey and provide a tailored quote.

FROM SW20

School transport built around your timetable

We arrange parent-booked school journeys from SW20 for mornings, afternoons, one-way or return travel, selected weekdays and term time. You can also ask about occasional cover, one-off journeys, clubs, exams and changed finish times.

SW20 is the pickup area, not a named school route. Tell us the actual destination school and timetable so our office can agree the vehicle, stop order and support. Your tailored quote reflects the agreed addresses, dates, vehicle and extras, rather than the postcode alone.

PLAN THE RUN

Three steps to an agreed school journey

Before the first run, we agree an individual travel plan with the authorised booker and, where relevant, the school or commissioner. KB Cars is registered with the ICO; our Privacy Notice explains how we handle booking information.

Build the child’s travel plan

Tell us how your child communicates and what helps them travel comfortably, including boarding, seating or restraint needs. Agree the collection and destination entrances, timetable, emergency and backup contacts, and any parent or passenger assistant support.

Set the handover rules

Name the authorised adults or receiving organisation and agree how identity and changed instructions will be verified. The plan covers delays, distress, an unexpectedly missing child and a missed recipient. A PIN or app alert does not replace authorised handover.

Keep changes with the office

The booker or designated contact can request an absence or changed finish time by phone or app. Prior-day notice is encouraged and agreed fees may apply. Receipt of a request is not acceptance: the office confirms the actual change and informs affected people.

Choose the actual school entrance Give us the school’s full address and entrance, including any School Street or private-access limits. We will agree a lawful, workable collection point; a landmark does not give permission to enter or stop.

SUPPORT THAT FITS

Agree the help your child needs

Tell us what helps your child board, travel and hand over comfortably, including communication, sensory, seating or mobility needs. Guidance to the car and loading ordinary bags or a folding wheelchair are free; let the office know about the help needed so it can coordinate a suitable driver. KB does not have wheelchair-accessible vehicles, so travel seated in a wheelchair is not available.

You can provide a passenger assistant (PA), or ask KB to source one. A PA can support boarding, communication, supervision and handover while the driver concentrates on driving. Medication, weight-bearing transfers, personal care, specialist equipment and physical intervention need an individually assessed plan and the right competence before acceptance.

GOOD TO KNOW

Questions about SW20 school runs

Plan the timetable, support and handover with confidence.

What information do you need to quote a school run from SW20?

Tell us the pickup address, school’s full address and entrance, days, collection and finish times, passengers, and whether you need one-way or return travel. Include vehicle preferences, support needs and authorised handover arrangements. The office uses the agreed addresses, dates, vehicle and extras to prepare a tailored quote; the postcode alone is not enough.

Can my child travel with a parent or passenger assistant?

Yes, where the arrangement is agreed. A parent can accompany your child, continue onward or be dropped off first as agreed. You can provide a PA or ask KB to source one; a PA needs a seat and clear responsibilities. Ordinary assistance is not a promise of clinical care, lifting or specialist handling.

What happens if school finishes early or the usual driver is unavailable?

The authorised contact can request a changed time or absence through the agreed route. Wait for confirmation of the accepted change, not just acknowledgment that the request was received; call the office if a time-critical message has not been confirmed.

You can request the same driver for continuity. If a genuine problem requires a replacement, the office arranges a suitable approved driver and informs you; the same person cannot be guaranteed in every circumstance.

Can you collect from any school in SW20?

The school and its access arrangements must be agreed first. SW20 identifies your pickup area, not the destination, and does not grant access to every school. Give the office the exact school, entrance and any School Street or private-access limits so a lawful, workable pickup point can be agreed.

What happens if the authorised adult is not there?

Your child will not be left alone. The driver maintains safe supervision, contacts the office and follows the agreed escalation plan. Changed recipients must be verified through the agreed authority route; a PIN or tracking access alone does not authorise handover.

Can I provide a child seat for the school run?

Yes. You can bring a suitable seat, or ask KB to arrange one in advance, subject to availability and suitability. Tell the office your child’s age, relevant height, weight and seat requirements so the arrangement and any charge can be confirmed.

YOUR ARRANGEMENTS

An office that stays involved

Our 24-hour office helps families plan school transport and also considers school or council commission enquiries. Drivers assigned to our school service complete KB’s school-transport induction and office approval, with a briefing on the agreed journey and handover plan.

An enquiry or quote is not a confirmed booking. KB confirms an accepted booking by SMS and/or email; you do not need to install an app to contact the office.
