School runs from TW1 A plan built around your child

Arrange a recurring school journey from TW1 with a tailored quote for your child’s school, days and timings. Our 24-hour office will help agree the journey, handover and support.

YOUR SCHOOL JOURNEY

Choose the schedule that works for your family

From TW1, we arrange school journeys around the destination and timetable you need. Choose morning or afternoon runs, one-way travel, selected weekdays or regular term-time journeys. Occasional cover, one-off trips, clubs, exams and changed finish times can also be discussed.

A parent can accompany the child, continue onward or be dropped off first when agreed. Tell our office the TW1 collection address, destination school, exact gate and days and times; we will discuss the arrangement and provide a tailored quote. TW1 is the starting area, not a named school route.

An enquiry, quote or payment alone is not a confirmed booking. Once the arrangements are accepted, we send confirmation by SMS and/or email.

BEFORE THE FIRST RUN

Agree the plan before the first run

We agree an individual journey plan with the authorised person arranging it and, where relevant, the school or commissioner. KB Cars is registered with the ICO. Our Privacy Notice explains how we handle your booking information.

Plan the journey and support

Agree the timetable, route and stops, and tell us how your child communicates, boards and travels comfortably. Include seating or restraint needs, any accompanying parent or assistant, and the support needed between home, car and school.

Agree collection and handover

Identify the exact entrances, authorised adults or receiving organisation and backup contacts. The plan covers delays, failed contact, a missing child and safe supervision if nobody is available. A tracking invitation or PIN alone does not authorise a different handover; changes are verified through the agreed authority.

Keep the schedule up to date

The authorised contact can request an absence or change by phone or app; prior-day notice is encouraged and agreed fees may apply. An acknowledgement only confirms receipt: wait for confirmation of the accepted change. For a time-critical request, call the office if your message has not been acknowledged.

SUPPORT THAT FITS THE JOURNEY

Support that fits your child’s journey

Tell us what helps your child travel comfortably, including communication, sensory preferences, boarding and handover. A passenger assistant can help with boarding, communication, supervision and the agreed handover while the driver concentrates on driving. We assess the whole journey, including other children and stops; one assistant is not automatically right for every arrangement.

You can provide an assistant or ask KB to source one. Responsibilities and suitability are agreed before acceptance. Medication, lifting, personal care, specialist equipment or physical intervention require the relevant plan, competence and practical training; they are not automatic duties of a driver or assistant.

You can bring a suitable child seat or ask us to arrange one in advance, subject to availability and suitability. Tell the office your child’s age and relevant height, weight and restraint needs, and ask about the cost of a seat. KB currently has no wheelchair-accessible vehicles; a folding wheelchair may travel as luggage where suitable, but not with a passenger seated in it.

GOOD TO KNOW

Questions parents ask about TW1 school runs

Practical answers about schedules, handover and support.

Can I arrange selected weekdays or changed finish times?

Yes. We can discuss morning or afternoon travel, one-way runs, selected weekdays, term-time arrangements, occasional cover, one-off journeys, clubs, exams and changed finish times. Share the timetable with the office and request any changes to the accepted schedule.

How is the school handover agreed?

We agree the exact collection and destination entrances, authorised receiving adult or organisation, backup contacts and what to do if nobody is available. A changed adult must be verified through the agreed authority route; a PIN or tracking access alone does not authorise a new handover. A child is not left alone if an adult is late or contact fails.

Can I provide a passenger assistant?

Yes. You can provide an assistant, or ask KB to source one. We agree responsibilities and suitability for the child’s whole journey. Medication, lifting, personal care, specialist equipment and physical intervention require the relevant plan, competence and practical training; they are not automatic inclusions.

What happens if the planned driver cannot complete a run?

The office contacts you and arranges a suitable approved replacement where needed. You can request the same driver for continuity, with a workable backup if that driver is unavailable.

How do I report an absence or change?

The authorised contact can request it by phone or app. Prior-day notice is encouraged and fees may apply under the agreed terms. Receipt of a request is not acceptance: the office confirms the actual accepted change and informs affected people. If a time-critical message has not been acknowledged, call the office.

SCHOOL TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS

A planned journey, with office support

Drivers assigned to our school service complete KB’s school-transport induction and office approval, with a briefing on the agreed journey and handover plan. Same-driver arrangements can be requested, with an approved replacement arranged if needed.

Tell us the actual school entrance so we can agree a practical collection or drop-off. Where a School Street applies, its access and any permissions must be confirmed; private hire is not a blanket exemption.

We arrange school transport for families and welcome school or council commission enquiries.
