SCHOOL TRANSPORT

School runs from TW10 Arranged around your child

Arrange a recurring school journey with the route, handover and support agreed before the first run. Contact our 24-hour office to discuss your child’s journey and get a tailored quote.

FROM TW10

A school run that fits your timetable

We arrange parent-booked school journeys starting in TW10, including morning or afternoon runs, selected weekdays, term-time travel, occasional cover and one-off journeys. Discuss a return, club, exam or changed finish time with us too. A parent can accompany your child, continue onward or be dropped off first by agreement.

Tell us the destination school, days and timings so we can assess the arrangement and provide a tailored quote. An enquiry, quote or payment alone is not a confirmed booking: KB confirms the booking by SMS or email.

BEFORE THE FIRST RUN

Plan your child’s school journey

We agree an individual travel plan with the authorised person before the first journey. KB Cars is registered with the ICO; our Privacy Notice explains how we handle booking information.

Agree the route and timetable

Give us the TW10 collection address, destination school and exact entrance, days and times. Include the stop order and any return or changed-finish plan, and tell us if a parent or passenger assistant will accompany your child.

Plan the handover

Name the authorised booker and receiving adult or organisation, with backup contacts. We agree how the child and recipient are checked, how changed instructions are verified and what to do if a recipient is late or unavailable.

Discuss your driver

You can request a same-driver arrangement. If a replacement is needed, the office arranges a suitable approved driver and informs you. Drivers assigned to our school service complete KB’s school-transport induction and office approval, with a briefing on the agreed journey and handover plan.

SUPPORT THAT FITS

Agree the right help for your child

Tell us what helps your child travel comfortably, including communication, sensory preferences, boarding, seating, restraint and handover needs. We agree what support is needed during the drive, at each stop and at handover. Guidance to the car and loading ordinary bags are free. Tell the office in advance what help your child needs so we can arrange a suitable driver; a driver alone is not automatically a specialist assistant.

If a passenger assistant is appropriate, you can provide one or ask KB to source one. The role, checks and briefing must fit the agreed plan; a parent-supplied companion is not automatically KB-employed. Medication, lifting, personal care or specialist handling need separately assessed competence and an agreed professional plan.

You can bring a suitable child seat or ask KB to arrange one in advance, subject to availability and suitability. Tell the office your child’s relevant seat requirements and ask about the cost.

GOOD TO KNOW

Questions parents ask

Answers to common questions about the route, handover and changes.

Does TW10 identify the school route?

No. TW10 is the origin area, not a destination school or fixed route. Tell us the actual school and entrance, collection address and any access or handover instructions. A landmark can help identify a location, but it does not give permission to stop or enter a private site.

Where a School Street affects the journey, the actual access arrangements and permissions need to be confirmed; private hire is not a blanket exemption.

Can my child travel without an adult?

Possibly, depending on the individual journey and the support your child needs; there is no blanket age-alone arrangement. We assess collection, travel and arrival, including communication, mobility and supervision, and agree an authorised handover. An independent arrival for an older child must be individually assessed.

What if the school day or pickup changes?

The authorised booker or contact can request an absence, new time, address or stop through the office or the appropriate app channel. Prior-day notice is encouraged and fees may apply under the agreed terms.

A request or acknowledgement of receipt is not an accepted change. Wait for confirmation of the actual change, particularly once a driver has been assigned; the office informs affected people. If a time-critical message has not been confirmed, call the office.

What happens if the authorised adult is not there?

The driver contacts the office and follows the agreed safe-supervision and escalation plan, including the backup contact. Your child is not left alone or treated as an ordinary no-show because the recipient is late or unavailable.
