STARTING IN TW11

A school run that fits your timetable

From a TW11 collection address, we arrange school journeys to the school and entrance you specify. Choose morning or afternoon travel, one-way journeys, selected weekdays or a term-time schedule; one-off journeys, occasional cover, clubs and exams can also be discussed.

A parent can accompany the child, continue onward or be dropped off first by agreement. Same-driver arrangements are available on request; if a genuine problem requires a replacement, the office arranges a suitable approved driver and informs the parent. Drivers assigned to our school service complete KB's school-transport induction and office approval, with a briefing on the agreed journey and handover plan. Short-notice enquiries are welcome, subject to assessment.

Your booking is confirmed when KB sends confirmation by SMS and/or email. An enquiry, quote or payment alone is not confirmation.

BEFORE THE FIRST RUN

Agree the plan before the first run

Our office works with the authorised booker to agree a practical plan for your child's journey. KB Cars is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Our Privacy Notice explains how we handle your booking information.

Agree the child's travel plan

Give us the TW11 collection address, destination school and exact entrance, days and pickup and finish times. Agree the authorised booker, backup contacts, seating and restraint needs, and any parent or passenger assistant support.

Confirm collection and handover

Agree the meeting point and authorised receiving adult or organisation. The plan covers verification of changed instructions and what to do if an adult is late, a code fails or nobody is available. It also covers delays, a missing child, refusal or distress and any replacement.

Keep changes with the office

The authorised contact can request an absence or change through the office, by phone or app. Prior-day notice is encouraged and fees may apply under the agreed terms. Receipt of a request is not acceptance: the office confirms an accepted change and informs affected people.

A passenger assistant can help A passenger assistant can support communication, supervision and handover while the driver concentrates on driving. You can provide one or ask KB to source one; the role is agreed for your child.

SUPPORT AND CONTINUITY

Support that fits your child

Tell us what helps your child travel comfortably, including communication, sensory preferences, mobility, boarding and seating. A parent or agreed passenger assistant can travel with the child, with a proper seat and responsibilities suited to the journey.

Guidance to the car and loading ordinary bags are free; telling the office in advance helps us arrange suitable assistance. Lifting, medication, personal care and specialist transfers require appropriate competence and separate acceptance. KB currently has no wheelchair-accessible vehicles; a folding chair may travel as luggage where suitable, but not with the child seated in it.

You can bring a suitable child seat or ask KB to arrange one in advance, subject to suitability and availability. Give the office your child's relevant seat requirements so the arrangement can be confirmed.

GOOD TO KNOW

Questions parents ask about TW11 school runs

Answers about schedules, school gates, handover and support.

Can I arrange only some school days or a one-way journey?

Yes. Morning or afternoon travel, selected weekdays, term-time or occasional cover, one-off journeys, clubs, exams and one-way journeys can be discussed. If the finish time changes, request a revised return through the office; it is arranged once the change is accepted and confirmed.

How should I plan the school entrance?

Give us the school's actual gate or entrance and any School Street or private-access details. Private-hire status is not blanket permission to enter or stop. The office and passenger can agree a lawful, safe collection point; stay reachable if access changes.

What if the authorised adult or schedule changes?

The authorised contact should request the change promptly using the agreed route. A new recipient must be verified under the child's plan; tracking access or a PIN alone does not authorise a handover change. The office confirms accepted changes, not just receipt of the request.

If an adult is late, a code fails or nobody is available, the child is not left alone. The office follows the agreed, risk-appropriate escalation plan.

Can a passenger assistant travel with my child?

Yes, where the journey plan supports it. A parent may accompany the child, you may provide a passenger assistant, or ask KB to source one. The assistant's tasks and seat are agreed in advance; medication, personal care, lifting and specialist handling require separate competence and acceptance.
