SCHOOL TRANSPORT FROM W4

School runs from W4 A plan built around your child.

Arrange recurring school pickups from W4 with an agreed handover and support plan. Our 24-hour office will discuss your school, timetable and needs, then provide a tailored quote.

YOUR W4 SCHOOL JOURNEY

Plan the route and timetable

W4 is the collection area, not a named school route. Give us the full collection address, destination school and entrance or gate, along with the days and pickup and return times. Near Turnham Green or Gunnersbury, the actual address is more useful than a station name.

We will discuss the route, passengers, handover, support and suitable vehicle with you before preparing a tailored quote. An enquiry, quote or payment alone is not a confirmed booking: KB confirms an accepted arrangement by SMS or email.

YOUR CHILD’S TRAVEL PLAN

Agree the details before the first run

We agree a child-specific plan with the authorised booker and, where relevant, the school or commissioner. KB Cars is registered with the ICO; our Privacy Notice explains how we handle booking information.

Plan the journey and support

Agree the schedule and what helps your child travel comfortably, including communication, seating or restraint needs. The plan records whether a parent, passenger assistant or other adult accompanies them, and their role.

Agree collection and handover

Name the authorised adults and receiving organisation, plus emergency and backup contacts. We verify the child and recipient against the plan; a tracking link or PIN alone does not authorise a different recipient. If nobody is available, the child is not left alone: contact the office and follow the agreed safe procedure.

Keep the office informed

The authorised contact can request absences, delays, changed instructions or a replacement through the office or agreed app route. Acknowledgment means the request was received; we separately confirm an accepted change and inform affected people. For a time-critical request, call the office if your message has not been acknowledged.

SUPPORT THAT FITS THE PLAN

Support that fits your child

Tell us what helps your child travel comfortably, including communication, sensory preferences or triggers, boarding, seating, restraint and handover. A passenger assistant (PA) can help with boarding, communication, supervision and the agreed handover while the driver concentrates on driving. The PA occupies a passenger seat. You can provide an assistant or ask KB to source one; we agree their responsibilities before acceptance.

Guidance to the car and loading ordinary bags or a folding wheelchair are free; telling the office in advance helps us arrange suitable assistance. KB does not currently have wheelchair-accessible vehicles, so a folded chair travels as luggage rather than allowing travel seated in it. We will discuss boarding and seating as well as space for the folded chair. Medication, lifting, personal care, specialist equipment or physical intervention require an individual plan and competent support before acceptance.

FLEXIBLE SCHOOL TRAVEL

Choose the routine that works for you

We arrange school transport for families and welcome school or council commission enquiries. Choose mornings, afternoons, one direction or selected weekdays; term-time arrangements, occasional cover and one-off journeys can also be discussed.

Tell us if the journey includes a club, exam or changed finish time, or if a parent will accompany the child, continue onward or be dropped off first. Siblings can share a suitable arrangement; sharing between unrelated families needs each guardian’s consent and agreed authority and private updates.

GOOD TO KNOW

Questions about school runs from W4

Practical answers for planning your child’s journey.

Is W4 a named school route?

No. W4 identifies the origin area, not a particular school, contract or council-funded allocation. Tell us the destination school, exact entrance, days and timings so the office can assess your arrangement. Commissioner requirements are agreed separately.

Can you collect from a station or another meeting point in W4?

Yes, a proposed meeting point can be discussed with the office. Give its full address and any mobility or walking needs. A station or landmark helps identify an area but does not give permission to stop, enter private access or use a school gate. We agree a lawful, workable point and confirm any relevant School Street access or permissions.

What if the usual driver or timetable changes?

Contact the office or use the agreed app route to request an absence, delay, new instruction or replacement. Prior-day notice is encouraged where possible, and fees may apply under the agreed terms. Receipt is not acceptance: the office confirms the actual accepted change and informs affected people. You can request the same driver, but continuity is not guaranteed; if a replacement is needed, the office arranges a suitable approved driver and informs the parent. If an authorised adult is unavailable, contact the office so the agreed safe procedure can be followed.

Can KB arrange support for a child with SEND?

Yes. We can discuss a parent-supplied or KB-sourced passenger assistant and agree support around your child’s communication, sensory, boarding, seating and handover needs. A driver or ordinary assistant is not automatically qualified for medication, lifting, personal care, specialist equipment or physical intervention; those needs require an individual plan and competent support before acceptance.

Can my child use a child seat on the school run?

Yes. You can bring your own suitable seat or ask KB to arrange one in advance, subject to availability and suitability. Tell the office your child’s age and relevant height, weight and seat requirements; it can confirm the arrangement and any charge.
