Choose the right pickup and destination
Give the hall, reception or campus entrance, any access instructions and any extra stop. For a return, tell us where you will actually be picked up.

Find your arrival point
Penrhyn Road is KT1 2EE; Kingston Hill is KT2 7LB; Knights Park is on Grange Road, KT1 2QJ; and Roehampton Vale is on Friars Avenue, SW15 3DW. Kingston University’s Roehampton Vale campus is not the University of Roehampton.
Your hall, induction event or key-collection reception may be away from your teaching campus. Give the office the destination name, street, postcode and entrance instructions you have been given, rather than substituting the university’s general postal address. Check key-collection hours for your arrival.
Airport journeys
For an arrival, give us your Heathrow terminal, flight number and UK arrival date, as well as your campus or hall. We offer free meet-and-greet at airport arrivals and track your flight; agree the meeting point and a way to contact each other beforehand. KB Cars is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). Our Privacy Notice explains how we handle your booking information.
If comparing public transport, plan the whole journey to your address: a bus into Kingston town centre still leaves an onward leg to campus or accommodation.
Airport journeys
Tell us whether you need North or South Terminal and give your flight details and final destination. For a departure, arrange pickup from your hall if that is where you will actually be, rather than assuming it will be from campus. Ask the office about availability, the fare and airport charges before booking.
Plan your journey
Students can travel with family or companions, and the office can help match the vehicle to the whole group and its luggage.
Give the hall, reception or campus entrance, any access instructions and any extra stop. For a return, tell us where you will actually be picked up.
Include everyone travelling, suitcase and cabin-bag counts and sizes, and any pushchair, folding wheelchair or bulky item. An estate may suit extra luggage; a six-passenger vehicle is another option, and you can enquire about seven- or eight-plus-passenger vehicles. The office will confirm a suitable arrangement rather than assuming every seat and bag fits.
Ask about the meeting plan, airport charges and any waiting or changes. An enquiry, quote or payment alone does not confirm a car: KB confirms a booking by SMS and/or email.
Other ways to travel
Kingston and Surbiton stations are useful approaches for different university destinations, but neither serves every campus entrance. Compare onward buses and walking with your bags, and check the current university campus guide.
The university intersite bus is a separate Monday–Friday term-time service, not an airport collection. There is a general fare, while eligible accessibility-pass holders travel free. Check the university’s current timetable and ticket information.
The university may offer other transport arrangements with their own eligibility and booking terms. Check its current pre-arrival information when comparing options; a university offer does not automatically apply to a KB Cars booking.
GOOD TO KNOW
Answers for planning your journey and booking with KB Cars.
Only if the current timetable has a suitable service for your date and stop. The intersite bus runs on weekdays in term time; it is not an airport collection or an all-hours link. Plan how you will reach your accommodation entrance if it is not running.
No. KB Cars is independent of the university, and no university discount is offered on this guide’s KB bookings. University coaches, shuttles or subsidised transfers have separate eligibility and booking terms; check the university’s current information before choosing.
Tell the office as soon as your plans change, and tell your accommodation team if reception or key-collection arrangements are affected. The booker or an authorised contact should request any material journey change; it is not in place until the office accepts and confirms it. Ask about any revised charge, waiting, parking or cancellation costs.
For airport arrivals we track your flight and offer free meet-and-greet for journeys to university or home. Confirm your terminal, flight number, UK arrival date and meeting instructions. Meet-and-greet does not include unlimited free waiting; applicable waiting and airport charges should be clear before booking.
Yes. Ask the office to arrange a journey in either direction and confirm availability. For your airport departure, give the airline’s reporting requirement, terminal and actual pickup address, along with the people and luggage travelling. Allow for the journey without relying on a guaranteed road time or arrival.
Yes. You can bring and fit your own suitable child seat, or ask the office to arrange one. A KB-supplied seat has a £3 offer for airport journeys and non-airport pre-bookings over £50. Local and short-notice requests depend on availability; for other bookings, check the price with the office.
Give the office the child’s relevant height, weight and seat needs, and confirm suitability, the number of seats and the total charge before booking.
Tell the office about furniture or other large objects before booking so the load can be discussed. A large passenger vehicle is not automatically a moving service. Undeclared bulky loads may incur extra charges, and the driver is not expected to help load them.
Ask the office for a quote for your specific journey. Give the full pickup and destination addresses, date and time, passenger numbers and vehicle or luggage requirements. The price can vary with travel time, including peak periods; a postcode alone does not establish the fare.
For a return, confirm each leg and whether the driver will wait. Ask what the quote includes and what waiting, parking or other agreed extras would cost, then confirm the price and arrangements before booking.
Travel with the right support
We welcome enquiries for journeys anywhere, including outside London, as well as station transfers, term-start travel, visits and graduations. Advance booking gives us more time to arrange your journey, but short-notice enquiries are welcome too; the office will check for an available car.
We can carry folding wheelchairs, but do not currently have wheelchair-accessible vehicles. Tell the office the folded size, other luggage, boarding needs and any assistance you need so we can discuss a suitable arrangement.
Guidance to the car and loading ordinary bags or a folding wheelchair are free. Tell the office about the help you need in advance where possible so we can arrange a driver able to assist. An optional escort to or inside a building, shopping centre or flat depends on the task and may carry a charge; agree its scope and any fee with the office.
