ESTATE VEHICLE GUIDE

Estate private hire: luggage and booking More room for your plans.

An estate can be a practical choice when you have extra luggage. Ask our 24-hour office about availability and a quote for your journey, passengers and load.

FIND THE RIGHT FIT

Match the car to your passengers and luggage

An estate can offer a useful alternative when a saloon’s boot may not suit your journey. The vehicle style alone does not guarantee that every long, tall or bulky item will fit, so our office considers the passenger layout and combined load together.

Tell us how many people are travelling, including any accompanying carer, and describe your luggage. We can discuss availability, access needs and a suitable category or equivalent where possible before the booking is accepted.

Discuss your journey

YOUR VEHICLE CHOICE

Plan an arrangement that works for you

Consider the car, passenger needs and the journey together.

Estate or suitable alternative

Estate is a body style, not a promise of a particular make or boot layout. If another category is needed, we can discuss a suitable equivalent or upgrade where possible. A material change or downgrade requires your agreement and an appropriate fare adjustment.

Access and assistance

Guidance to the car and loading ordinary bags or a folding wheelchair are free. Tell the office about walking, entry or seating needs so suitable support can be arranged. If you need an additional escort inside a building, we will discuss the task and agree any charge.

A quote for your journey

The price reflects your addresses, date and time, vehicle and agreed extras. Ask the office to check the arrangement and availability; a quote is not itself a confirmed booking.

PLANNING YOUR JOURNEY

What to tell the office

For an accurate assessment, share the full collection and destination addresses, date and time, passenger count, and the number and sizes of suitcases and cabin bags. Describe any pushchair, folding wheelchair or unusual item, and add any stops, return plan, train, flight or venue details. KB Cars is registered with the ICO. Our Privacy Notice explains how we handle your booking information.

Tell us about entry or seating preferences, assistance, pets or child-seat needs. You can bring your own suitable child seat or ask us to arrange one in advance, subject to availability and suitability. Declare pets so we can arrange a suitable vehicle and driver. Extra charges may apply to ordinary pets, although pets in carriers usually have no extra charge.

If plans change after acceptance, the booker or designated authorised contact should request the change from the office. Agree the revised journey details and any charge; acknowledgment of a message is not acceptance. For a time-critical change, call if your message has not been acknowledged.

GOOD TO KNOW

Estate vehicle questions

Answers to common questions about the car, access and booking.

Does an estate guarantee a particular make or boot size?

No. Estate describes a body style, not a guaranteed model, boot layout or luggage result. Tell the office what you need to carry so we can discuss the available category and a suitable equivalent where possible.

Can a folding wheelchair travel with passengers?

Yes, a folding wheelchair may travel as luggage where suitable, alongside passengers and other bags. KB does not currently have wheelchair-accessible vehicles, so this is not travel seated in a wheelchair. Discuss boarding, walking and entry needs with the office.

What if I do not know the return time?

You can contact the office when you are ready, reserve the driver to wait, or arrange a separate approximate return. A car booked when ready is subject to availability; waiting is chargeable under the agreed terms. If delayed for an approximate return, contact the office: waiting or changes can affect the cost. A separate return does not automatically retain the outward driver or the same vehicle.

When is the estate journey confirmed?

Your booking is confirmed when KB sends confirmation by SMS and/or email. An enquiry, quote or payment alone does not confirm a car. If plans change, the booker or authorised contact should request the change and wait for the office to accept it.
