FAMILY AIRPORT GUIDE

Planning a family airport transfer A practical plan for everyone

Plan a departure or airport pickup with our 24-hour office. We’ll help you choose a suitable vehicle and quote for your journey and agreed extras.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

What to have ready

Give the office your exact collection and destination addresses, date and time, airport and terminal, airline and flight number. Include any extra stops, return plans or connection deadline, and a reachable lead passenger’s contact details, including international contact arrangements if needed. KB Cars is registered with the ICO. Our Privacy Notice explains how we handle your booking information.

Tell us the number of adults and children, each child’s age and relevant height, weight and seat needs, and any help needed walking or getting into the car. Include the number and sizes of suitcases and cabin bags, plus pushchairs, folding wheelchairs or unusual items. Passenger space and luggage need to be considered together.

THREE USEFUL CHECKS

Choose the right arrangement

A few decisions make it easier to agree a practical family journey.

Choose your direction and vehicle

For a departure, plan to reach the correct terminal in time for your airline’s check-in requirements. For an arrival, agree the onward destination and meeting arrangements. Ask about an estate for extra luggage, a six-passenger vehicle for a group, or a seven-passenger or larger vehicle on request; the office will assess the combined passenger and luggage needs.

Plan an airport pickup

For arrivals, consider when the family will be ready after immigration and collecting bags, not just the landing time. Agree where to meet and keep the lead contact reachable. If you cannot find your driver, contact the office for help.

Look for booking confirmation

An enquiry, quote or payment alone does not confirm a car. Your booking is confirmed when KB Cars sends confirmation by SMS or email. If plans change, the booker or designated authorised contact should request the change and wait for it to be accepted.

Check the details A wrong terminal, unreachable lead passenger or missing child-seat detail can delay agreement. Check these before sending your enquiry.

GOOD TO KNOW

Family airport transfer questions

Seats, assistance and airport arrangements for the whole family.

Can we bring our own child seat?

Yes. Bring a suitable seat or ask KB Cars to arrange one in advance. Give the office your child’s age and relevant height, weight and seat requirements so availability, suitability and any charge can be agreed before travel.

What help can you arrange for a passenger?

We can arrange guidance to the car and loading of ordinary bags or a folding wheelchair without charge when arranged in advance. Tell the office about walking limits, entry needs, bags and any accompanying carer, who will need a passenger seat.

An escort inside a building is assessed separately; the office will agree the task and any cost. A folding wheelchair can travel as luggage where suitable, but KB Cars does not currently have vehicles for travel seated in a wheelchair.

Which airport details should we include?

Give the airport, terminal, airline and flight number, and say whether the journey is an arrival or departure. For an arrival, provide a reachable lead contact and allow for the time between landing and being ready to meet the driver.

What if our family plans change?

The booker or designated authorised contact should request the change from the office, including any new time, addresses, stops, passengers, vehicle or terminal. Acknowledgement of the request is not acceptance: wait for an accepted-change confirmation and any revised charge.

A different airport or destination may need a revised quote. If a time-critical message has not been acknowledged, call the office.

What is included when we are picked up at the airport?

Airport arrivals include free meet-and-greet and flight tracking. Agree the indoor meeting arrangements with the office; tracking helps with planning but does not show when your family will be ready after immigration and baggage collection.

The free greeting does not include all parking or waiting. Applicable waiting and other agreed costs are separate; ask the office about the arrangements for your booking.
