HEATHROW JOURNEY CHOICES

Heathrow: pre-booked car or train?

Compare the whole journey to or from Heathrow. A car avoids rail changes; a train may suit an easy station connection. Request a car quote based on your journey and vehicle needs.

THE WHOLE JOURNEY

Compare the whole journey, door to terminal

Look at the total cost for your party, along with changes, luggage, walking and access.

A pre-booked car

A pre-booked car can take your party together from the collection address to the terminal, or in the other direction, without rail changes. An estate is an option to discuss for extra luggage; for a group, ask about a six-passenger vehicle and consider the bags alongside the passengers. Compare the vehicle quote and any agreed extras with tickets for everyone. Allow for road traffic and the walk from the agreed terminal collection or drop-off point.

Rail to or from Heathrow

Rail can be a good choice if your station connection is convenient and you can manage your bags on platforms and through changes. Include the journey to the station, connecting fares and terminal walking. Check step-free access along the whole route, not just at Heathrow.

CHOOSING A RAIL ROUTE

Which rail connection fits your starting point?

Choose a route that suits your starting point and terminal. Check services, including first and last trains, for your travel date, and allow for station access and changes with luggage.

Heathrow Express via Paddington

Heathrow Express connects Paddington with Terminals 2 & 3 and Terminal 5. For Terminal 4, change at Terminals 2 & 3 for the free transfer train. It may suit you if Paddington is easy to reach; include the cost and effort of getting there and walking through the stations.

Elizabeth line or Piccadilly line

The Elizabeth line serves the shared Terminals 2 & 3 station, with different services continuing to Terminal 4 or 5: check your train's destination. The Piccadilly line also serves Heathrow, but Friday and Saturday Night Tube does not serve Terminal 4. Consider which station is easiest to reach and any changes with bags.

TERMINAL ACCESS

The last stretch at your terminal

The shared Terminals 2 & 3 rail station sits between the terminals, with pedestrian subway access. The Elizabeth line station at Terminal 4 is below arrivals; at Terminal 5 it is at basement level. Include the terminal walk when comparing luggage and access.

By car, terminal forecourt drop-offs are charged; collections and waiting are not permitted there. Terminals 2, 3 and 5 use Terminal Parking for near-terminal pickups. For Terminal 4, the office confirms parking and the passenger meeting arrangement separately for each booking.

YOUR JOURNEY QUOTE

Get a quote for the complete car journey

The quote reflects your addresses, direction, date and time, vehicle and agreed extras. Send the full collection and destination addresses, terminal and flight details, and say whether you need an arrival collection or departure drop-off. Include passenger and bag numbers, any bulky items and your vehicle preference so the office can discuss a suitable arrangement. KB Cars is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Our Privacy Notice explains how we handle your booking information.

Ask the office to set out the fare, airport parking or access charges and driver waiting separately, and agree what is included. Peak travel can affect the quote. An enquiry or quote is not a confirmed booking: KB confirms a booking by SMS and/or email.

GOOD TO KNOW

Heathrow car journey questions

Plan assistance, child seats and arrival charges before you book.

Can you carry a folding wheelchair?

Yes, we can carry folding wheelchairs, although we currently have no wheelchair-accessible vehicles. Tell the office the folded dimensions, other luggage, boarding and assistance needs so we can confirm a suitable arrangement.

Can the driver help me and my bags?

Yes. Guidance to the car and loading ordinary bags or a folding wheelchair are free. Tell the office in advance what help you need so it can arrange a suitable driver; this does not affect required disability assistance.

An optional escort to or inside a building, shopping centre or flat depends on the task and may carry a charge. Agree the scope and any fee with the office before booking.

Can I request a child seat or bring my own?

Yes. You can bring and fit your own suitable child seat, or ask KB to supply one. The £3 offer applies to airport journeys and non-airport pre-bookings over £50. Local and short-notice supply depends on availability; for other bookings, check the price with the office.

Give the office the child's relevant height, weight and seat needs, and confirm suitability, the number of seats and the total charge before booking.

Does free meet-and-greet include waiting?

No. Free arrivals meet-and-greet is available for airport-to-home and airport-to-university journeys, but it does not include unlimited free waiting. Flight tracking is also available for these journeys. Confirm waiting terms and any airport parking or access charges with the office before booking.
