PORT JOURNEY PLANNING

Your Portsmouth port transfer, planned around your sailing

KB Cars arranges passenger transfers to and from Portsmouth International Port for cruise and ferry journeys. Choose an outward trip, a return collection or separate home, hotel, airport and port legs; you do not need to have booked your outward journey with us to enquire about a return.

Your quote reflects the addresses, direction, date and time, vehicle and agreed extras. The office can discuss stops, parking or access costs and return arrangements before you accept.

An enquiry, quote or payment alone does not confirm a car. Your booking is confirmed when KB sends confirmation by SMS and/or email.

CHOOSE THE RIGHT TIMING

Plan the outward and return journey

The check-in deadline, passenger-ready time and meeting point each need their own plan.

Embarkation: work back from check-in

Give us the sailing date, operator or ship, exact terminal and check-in deadline. The office can discuss a suitable road pickup time; sailing time alone is not a pickup instruction.

Disembarkation: agree a ready time

Ship arrival is not the time passengers are necessarily ready to leave. Use the operator’s guidance to estimate when you can leave the terminal, and agree a collection time with the office.

Meeting point: agree a fallback

Agree a lawful, accessible meeting point for your terminal and a way to contact each other if you cannot find the driver. Keep a reachable contact available and discuss a fallback with the office.

If the return time is not fixed Book when ready and the office will arrange a car subject to availability, without guaranteed immediate collection. Alternatively, agree an approximate separate return and contact the office if delayed, or reserve a driver to wait. Waiting is chargeable under the agreed terms; changes or waiting may affect the cost of an approximate return. A separate return does not retain the outward driver or guarantee the same vehicle.

PORTSMOUTH TERMINAL DETAILS

Name the terminal, not just the waterfront

Portsmouth International Port’s passenger terminal is a specific destination, not a name for every waterfront site. Its facilities have their own access and eligibility conditions; a suggested address does not give a private-hire car permission to stop there. The office will agree a lawful, accessible meeting point for your actual terminal.

For a useful quote, give us the exact addresses, date and timing, operator or ship, terminal, passengers and luggage, plus any stops or return plans and a reachable contact. Tell us the number and sizes of suitcases and cabin bags, and about pushchairs, folding wheelchairs or unusual items. Ask for an estate if you have extra luggage, a six-passenger vehicle for a group, or enquire about seven- or eight-plus passenger options; the office will confirm a suitable vehicle for the combined passengers and load.

Tell us about walking, boarding or loading needs. We can arrange guidance to the car and loading of ordinary bags or a folding wheelchair without charge; advance notice helps us arrange suitable help. Terminal or cruise-line assistance is separate. If a meeting point is inaccessible, discuss a workable alternative with the office.

GOOD TO KNOW

Portsmouth port transfer questions

Practical answers for your sailing and collection after disembarkation.

Does the car travel on the ferry?

No. KB Cars arranges the passenger transfer to or from the UK terminal; the car does not cross the Channel. Tell the office which separate home, hotel, airport or port legs you need.

Can you collect me when the ship arrives?

Yes, you can arrange a return collection, but ship arrival is not the same as passenger-ready time. Use the operator’s information to estimate when you can leave the terminal and agree a meeting point with the office. Contact us if the sailing or disembarkation is delayed; ship checks are by enquiry, not automatic tracking.

Will the driver meet me anywhere at Portsmouth port?

No. The office agrees a lawful, accessible meeting point for your actual terminal; a suggested waterfront spot does not create access rights. Tell us about walking or assistance needs so we can discuss a workable alternative if necessary. Ordinary guidance to the car and loading help are separate from cruise-line terminal assistance.

What should I do if the terminal or sailing changes?

Contact the office promptly. The booker or designated authorised contact should request any material change by phone, email, SMS, WhatsApp or the appropriate app, including the revised terminal, time and meeting details. A request or acknowledgment is not acceptance: the office must accept the change and confirm it by SMS and/or email, including any revised charge. For a time-critical change, call if your message has not been acknowledged.
