Long-distance private hire from or to London Cities, ports and return journeys

Travel between London and a UK city or port with a journey-specific quote. Our 24-hour office can help plan stops and returns; contact us to discuss your trip.

Choose your destination

City or terminal: the endpoint matters

Book a city journey with a London pickup or drop-off, including travel to or from Oxford, Cambridge, Brighton, Bath, Bristol, Southampton, Portsmouth and Birmingham. A return to London does not require an earlier outward booking with KB Cars. Other longer-journey enquiries are welcome.

For Southampton or Portsmouth, specify whether you need the city or a cruise or ferry terminal. The office can plan the correct endpoint, terminal access and check-in needs. Long duties, breaks, replacement drivers and overnight arrangements are agreed with the office.

Choose your arrangement

Plan the journey around your day

From business and university trips to family visits and leisure days, our office can discuss the arrangement that suits your plans.

City-to-city travel

Arrange a pre-booked journey between London and a supported city. Agree any extra addresses and comfort stops with the office before travel.

Cruise and ferry terminals

Passenger transfers are available to and from UK terminals. Tell us the actual terminal and check-in deadline; the car does not cross the Channel.

Waiting or a separate return

For an appointment, meeting or day out, compare booking when ready, reserving a wait or arranging an approximate separate return. Waiting is chargeable; extra stops or a changed destination may also affect the quote.

Planning your journey

What to tell the office

Share the full collection and destination addresses, date and pickup time, passenger count, luggage and any access or assistance needs. Include suitcase and cabin-bag counts and sizes, pushchairs, folding wheelchairs or unusual items. Tell us about vehicle preferences, extra addresses, comfort stops and your return plan so we can discuss a suitable arrangement.

For a port journey, include the operator or ship, sailing, actual terminal, check-in deadline and a reachable contact. For a return from a cruise, agree a passenger-ready time using the operator's information: ship arrival is not the same as being ready to leave.

The booker or a designated authorised contact can request changes through the office. We will discuss the revised details and any charge; a request is not accepted until the change is confirmed. Prepayment may be requested for an inbound journey starting outside London or a special arrangement.

GOOD TO KNOW

Long-distance journey questions

More on ports, return plans, luggage and confirmation.

Can you take me to a cruise or ferry terminal?

Yes. We arrange passenger transfers to and from UK cruise and ferry terminals; the car does not cross the Channel. Agree a lawful, accessible meeting point with the office. If your sailing is delayed or the terminal changes, contact us and confirm the revised collection.

What if I do not know when I will be ready to return?

You can book when ready, reserve the driver to wait, or arrange an approximate separate return. Booking when ready is subject to availability; reserved waiting is chargeable under the agreed terms. A separate return does not automatically retain the outward driver or vehicle. Contact the office if you are delayed, as waiting or changes can affect the cost.

Can you accommodate my luggage or a folding wheelchair?

The office can help choose a vehicle for your passengers and luggage together. Ask about a saloon, an estate for extra luggage or a six-passenger vehicle; for seven or more passengers, enquire with the office. A folding wheelchair may travel as luggage where suitable, but KB does not currently have wheelchair-accessible vehicles for travel seated in a wheelchair.

Tell us what help you need. Guidance to the car and loading ordinary bags or a folding wheelchair can be arranged without charge; an additional escort inside a building is assessed separately and any cost agreed.

When is my long-distance journey confirmed?

Your booking is confirmed when KB sends confirmation by SMS and/or email. An enquiry asks the office to assess the trip, while a quote sets out its price and scope; an enquiry, quote or payment attempt alone does not confirm a car. Changes also need accepted confirmation.
